The real problem today is we seem to have lost

The real problem today is we seem to have lost, or misplaced our capacity to read our feelings, and also of others, much less our sensitivities. It is not merely words — or actions — that represent our divine frenzy. Our frame of mind reveals what is going on in our life — because our feelings and emotions form the pulsating or echoing embroidery work, as also fulsome “connect” between us and our fellow beings. The idea is simple.Plato’s concept of such “madness” related well to his doctrine of “inspired prophecy” — when one is the true prophet “literally filled with a God” in their work, or God within them. The whole summation of any imaginative voyage, simple or complex, is heightened refinement. Picture this — a powerfully enacted scene in a film with refined facial expressions has as much clout to impact us as soulful dialogues. The philosopher Plato called it “divine frenzy”, just as psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi précised it as the “flow experience”. Silent contemplation too has an analogous gradation of attendance and influence to convey, or showcase our work of art, excellence at work or sports. Divine frenzy, or poetic madness, is a sine qua non for everything innovative — be it the arts, science, logic, carpentry or plumbing. For Socrates, divine madness embraced three components — prophetic madness, when someone is not in Sewing Thread control of themselves; telestic madness, where one finds relief through ritualistic purification; and poetic madness, where purported beneficial results percolate from the Gods, or divine intervention. Divine frenzy is manifest and pervades everything we do — the big, fascinating, humble or small. As a result, we habitually pay attention to mundane facts, not details of the given or not given situation — not what the divine frenzy in each of us would want us to express — while disregarding our own and others’ feelings.. It’s most likely that nobody would have achieved fame without the attribute caressing their mind, including the skin of one’s thought. We would not have communicated, or sculpted art, music, dance, science or anything else. You’d sure say and without ado that divine frenzy is nature’s most persuasive testament — it drives, guides, directs, elevates and arouses our talents dwelling in the deep recesses of our mind and soul

Talking about the design he chose for the mask he was painting

It all started off a little over two years ago, when Fawad, who is a lover of cats and confesses to having over 20 at a time at his home, decided that he wanted to do something for tigers. Then, I started sending China Polyester Embroidery Thread Colour Card Suppliers them to artists I like personally like, no matter how established or young they were in the art world. nature conflict raging in urban cities. If one tiger mask boasts exquisite floral designs reminiscent of Japanese art, another is covered in mythological characters, while yet another captures the man vs. This display is the brainchild of artist Fawad Tamkanat, who brought together over 80 artists in a tiger mask painting project. Talking about the design he chose for the mask he was painting, he reveals that it has been inspired by Urdu calligraphy. And that’s why, on stepping into the gallery, one feels like one has stepped onto a patch of wilderness overrun by the big cat. A similar candidness is captured in the paintings of Sushma Jain.Ongoing till August 12, 11 am to 7 pm at Tao Art Gallery, Worli. Also, I’ve related the Urdu script to the tiger because both are fast decaying in India. In the photographs of Raj Salgaokar, Isheta Salgaokar, Rajesh Khanna and Urvi Piramal, we see the tiger in its natural habitat, engaged in mundane pursuit like bathing, dozing in a verdant patch, playing with siblings or even sitting stalk still, gazing into the camera. Instead, it gently nudges you in the direction of discovery by presenting artworks that draw out the beauty, charisma and power of this regal beast. If the artist loved animals and was interested in the concept, I included them. I don’t believe in signatures and the price of the work, because it’s the concept that matters here,” says Fawad.Even as we’re days away from celebrating International Tiger Day, news of an adult tigress being brutally beaten up in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh is doing the rounds. But the exhibition doesn’t overwhelm you with written details about the tiger. While this is his exhibition’s second preview, the first being held in Hyderabad a few months ago, the artist hopes to take his painted tiger mask exhibition across India and even to countries abroad, so that everyone can engage with the art and the concept behind it “The exhibition will go to Singapore next, and I’ll be including 15 Singaporean artists, just as I had included 15 artists from Mumbai for this exhibition. “I asked them to paint the mask the way they paint their canvasses,” shares Fawad.
