Hello darkness , my old friend
I`ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
left it`s seeds while i was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remeins with the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
narrow streets of cobblestone
`neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed
By the flash of a neon liglt
That split the night and touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light i saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voises never share
And o one dare disturb the sound of silence

But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence.
Ad the people bowed and prayed
