I'm such a failure!
I am, what the Humane Society calls, a "Failed Foster"
Pogo was due to go to the Humane Society in Kentucky on Wednesday morning. Since I was going there anyway, I was volunteered to bring 10 other dogs too (6 puppies and 4 other small dogs, including Festus the 12 yr old dachsund - who by the way, looked really good for his age, poor boy). I was supposed to meet the other foster people at a gas station near the interstate at 8:30 a.m. At 7:30 I was on the phone with my mother and sister and then Lisa, begging for advice - should I keep Pogo or not? Essentially they each said that I should, but they left it up to me.
I felt kind of stupid. I had so wanted to be able to do this foster thing, in order to save lots of dogs, and I only had Pogo for 2 days. How could I fail this quickly? So I put him in the carrier and brought him with me, and then picked up the rest of the dogs. About an hour later we were in Louisville, at the Humane Society. I brought in all of the other dogs first, and then looked at little Pogo in his carrier. He was whining and looking at me with those big brown eyes. And I couldn't do it. I went inside and told the staff that he had been adopted.
Then Pogo and I went to the pet store - he rode around in the shopping cart like a champ. We got him some very nice food, itty-bitty teeny-tiny dog cookies, a new coat, and 2 mini-tennis balls. And then we went home. His home. Forever.
Pogo and I have a lot to be thankful for today! And we wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Entertaining the masses
While surfing flickr the other night I saw a photo that was shopped with 3 clones of the main subject. I thought that was a good idea so I decieded to give it a try. But as always, I had to take it to the next level. Took about 2 hours due to the attention to detail with photoshop and setting up the scene, not to mention changing cloths. I wanted to have a bit of humor in the scene. Oh and I am working on two more that will be even better.
You really have to view this photo at largest size to appreciate the time it took to mask all 5 images together.
