Mark Omid Akhavain & Long Beach Grand Prix Race Car Driver

Mark Omid Akhavain of Long Beach, California, is a great fan of his city and the Long Beach Grand Prix and proves it every year when he hosts private Grand Prix celebrations at the rooftop gardens of his Ocean Center Building office complex on the route of the longest running street race in the United States. Akhavain can also assist groups to plan and host these types of events for their members, guests and occasions at his rooftop garden and other locations in the Ocean Center Building.

At this year's Grand Prix celebration, Akhavain created an elegant private event to honor Ferrari with guests from Europe and cities around the United States. The star-studded guest list included Marco Mattiacci, President of Ferrari North America. On the lawn on the Ocean Center Building, Akhavain featured Ferrari show cars, which the public was invited to enjoy.

Celebrities and professionals competing in the Celebrity/Pro Race were a mix television, movie actors, models, athletes and media personalities, including Anthony Anderson, of NBC’s Law and Order and film, Transformers; Kevin Jonas, singer/songwriting guitarist of the Jonas Brothers Band; Tito Ortiz, Ultimate Fighter coach and light heavyweight Ultimate Fighting Champion; and Kimora Lee Simmons, model, star of Style Network’s Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane and designer/founder of Baby Phat fashions.

“I think everyone has had a dream of being in a race or seeing a race,” Akhavain said. “The Long Beach Grand Prix allows people to dream. It’s exciting. When I was a kid, I collected all the different kinds of models of racing cars and now that I have the opportunity to be in middle of it all, it makes me very happy.”

Akhavain also has a chain of boutique hotels called, Ohotels, the first of which opened in 2007 in downtown Los Angeles at the heart of the financial district near Staples Center. Opening soon in other coastal California locations are Ohotels at LAX, Newport Beach and San Diego.

XTM, baby!!!!

XTM, baby!!!!

the expensive to move (XTM) art movement is in full swing.

why, you might ask, do corporations support shows that involve 100s of thousands of dollars and hours to transport, construct and dismantle?

well, er, uh, that's why. it's called money laundering. with untold write-offs and attached gimmicks and back scratching

so i am officially proposing the ultimate XTM tour -- an exact replica of the pyramids of egypt will travel through all the major cities of the world. but instead of being empty, this traveling pyramid will have the extra advantage of being the world's largest shopping mall with stores, boutiques and entertainment centers open 24 hours everyday of the show, which will last for the next three years.
