WWAN, which stands for Wireless wide area network, is a form of wireless network. A wide area network differs from a local area network by the technology used to transmit the signal and their size.
A network that satisfies wireless networking needs over a large geographical area, such as a country or continent. Satellites offer a means for extending radio signals over a wireless WAN.

What makes it all tick...
The Arubu wireless controller at the top looks after every Wireless Access Point in every classroom and learning space. WPA2+PSK security, load balancing and monitoring of the air. This is state of the art. Below it is the new HP head-end switch which links the school and the DER networks and provides the gateway to the WAN and the internet.
Joining the WAN
The new antenna is directed at a node on the WAN 20 miles away. I haven't tested the speed properly yet.
