The Parkinson Cowan, produced by Parkinson Cowan Society, is a third-generation stove, oven, and grill set. Its distribution began around October 1997; however research and development for this project began as early as 1990.

Raining at the gasworks
A gasworks at St Helens, Lancashire, Friday 12th December 1969. The last photo I took before calling it a day and heading back to the station. The lorry coming towards us belongs to Parkinson Cowan, apparently a manufacturer of "white goods" ...cookers, washing machines, dishwashers &c... and still in business. Passing through the town a few years ago, for the first time since 1970, I thought I saw these same gasholders on the skyline.

Parkinson's (Parkinson & Cowan) were a large manufacturer of gas appliances (cookers and meters for example) and obviously still supplied gas lanterns in the post-war period. The Maxilla had a removable reflector shield.
