Photoshop was used for spotting/repairs and to lighten the chain links at the bottom of the watch. Everything else is the original image.

For Strobist:
I used two Mettle MT-160's (cheap ebay strobes). Each strobe is pointed into my living room wall, just outside the angle of reflection from the watch face. This gives the nice white gradients in the watch face. The couple is on their knees a few feet in front of the wall, to back light them.
The watch is on a makeshift paper clip hanger, and there is some flagging to keep the reflections pleasing on the metallic surface.

I used to have a watch just like this one, but I lost it in Hawaii just a couple weeks before becoming a father. Now that we have our four kids (and done), I have the watch again.
And that is the Bently of BMW repair manuals. Really, Bently is the publisher. It is rumored that these guys know fixing BMWs better than BMW itself.
