The classification and naming of jasper presents an enormous challenge. Terms attributed to various well-defined materials includes the geographic locality where it is found, sometimes quite restricted such as "Bruneau" (a canyon) and "Lahontan" (a lake), rivers and even individual mountains, many are fanciful such as "Forest Fire" or "Rainbow", while others are descriptive such as "Autumn", "Porcelain" or "Dalmatian". A few are designated by the country of origin such as a Brown Egyptian or Red African leaving tremendous latitude as to what is called what.

African green jasper is said to help balance the factors in life and is especially beneficial to the heart chakra as well as the digestive organs.

Thai Hill Tribe silver is created with "high content" silver which guarantees silver purity of up to 98%.

Thai hill tribe silver beads and pendants are handmade by the Karen Hill Tribe in northern Thailand using traditional tribal methods passed down from generation to generation.

* The African green jasper puff ovals are 8x12mm long, and the entire necklace is approximately 17 inches (43.18cm) in length.
* The landscape jasper piece is about 12x18mm, or just under 3/4" long, making the entire pendant hang about and inch from the Thai silver toggle clasp.

This earthy one-of-a-kind necklace features rhyolite beads and a pendant that has been hand-wrapped in sterling silver. It is completed with a handmade hammered Thai hill tribe silver toggle clasp.

Rhyolite is an igneous rock with high silica content - chemically identical to granite, that cooled from a molten state too quickly for crystals to form. The stone's mossy greens, browns and grays are reminiscent of a rainforest, and it presents interesting banding.

This stone is much less common than granite, but can be found in large deposits in Yellowstone Park in Wyoming, USA.
