There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
Today is the last day for the current incarnation of Walt Disney World's Space Mountain. As a huge fan of the attraction, it's a bit bittersweet for me. Will they retain the cheesy "space windows" in the queue that allow you to look at a 3D rendering of space? I hope so, as I remember them trips of my youth. Will they eliminate the cheesy WalMart-esque video cameras and monitors from the post-show? I hope so, because I think they are bad show.
I'm sure the job of imagineer on a project like this is extremely difficult, because you have to try to please everyone, which is impossible, because one person's nostalgia is another's complaint.
Here's hoping that come November (or more likely, April) WDI shows us that pleasing everyone is possible (hey, they did it with Haunted Mansion), when Space Mountain reopens to decidedly positive reviews.

This is a VIDEO of the Viscose Company #6 is a 1925.
I almost missed turning on my camera because the engine is not very loud once it has enough steam pressure built up to run - as you will discover.
My little camera takes decent videos. I have only explored taking moving pictures a few times. It takes more planning than a single frame. And, a tripod makes a big difference.
LOCATION NOTE: This was taken from just north of the 82 bridge because I wanted to get away from the traffic noise of the bridge. I was very surprised at how relatively quiet this little engine was. And, after this train went by and I reviewed the video, I wished that I had a better shot of the side of this train. That is why I tried to turn the camera in the other videos of the bigger locomotive. I practiced a couple of times on the regular diesel train twice.
