Today, I spent the day with John and CiCi at Ikea, looking for apartment necessities. Got quite a few kitchen items, as well as a few decorative things, but mostly useful, functional things. I love Ikea. They're furniture is quite pricey, even though they claim they're all about being affordable, but their non-furniture type things are cheap. That's probably the only reason why I would go there. There's no way I'm paying $400 for something that I have to assemble all myself, when I could just buy it somewhere else cheaper with it already being assembled. No thanks, Ikea!

I'm so ready to move out. I wish we would get a call already and find out whether or not we got the place. If we don't, then I would like to start looking again immediately before I waste any time and lose another chance at a great, cheap apartment. I'm still nervous. It was so hard to sleep last night. All I keep thinking about it this place.

I know I shouldn't let it get to me and it's certainly not something to lose my hair over, but still. I have these dreams where I imagine myself walking through the apartment finished by all my little touches and all my little cutesy things. I imagine myself chilling in the living room with friends. I imagine myself walking through the neighborhood and going to the beach and living my life in a different place.

I will totally be heartbroken if I don't get it. I know that there's other places out there, but this place had a charm to it. I think the location is perfect, the size is perfect - it just fits me perfectly! This is why I'm willing to fight for it.

Was at the house again today assembling furniture ready for the big move. There's been lots of little things to organise but I feel like it's starting to all come together.

This report was created for global strategic planners who cannot be content with traditional methods of segmenting world markets. With the advent of a "borderless world", cities become a more important criteria in prioritizing markets, as opposed to regions, continents, or countries. This report covers the top 2000 cities in over 200 countries. It does so by reporting the estimated market size (in terms of latent demand) for each major city of the world. It then ranks these cities and reports them in terms of their size as a percent of the country where they are located, their geographic region (e.g. Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North America, Latin America), and the total world market.

In performing various economic analyses for its clients, I have been occasionally asked to investigate the market potential for various products and services across cities. The purpose of the studies is to understand the density of demand within a country and the extent to which a city might be used as a point of distribution within its region. From an economic perspective, however, a city does not represent a population within rigid geographical boundaries. To an economist or strategic planner, a city represents an area of dominant influence over markets in adjacent areas. This influence varies from one industry to another, but also from one period of time to another.

In what follows, I summarize the economic potential for the world's major cities for "wood outdoor furniture, unpainted wood furniture, and ready-to-assemble wood furniture excluding custom furniture sold at retail directly to the customer" for the year 2009. The goal of this report is to report my findings on the real economic potential, or what an economist calls the latent demand, represented by a city when defined as an area of dominant influence. The reader needs to realize that latent demand may or may not represent real sales.
