Leather Table Pads

Admiring packaging is a subtle art, usually only appreciated by those in the design field (like myself). Appreciated the packaging of an alcoholic beverage takes someone who drinks far too much. And this is an expensive, rare and privileged libation to consume.
My father understands my vice, and indulges me (because he has the means, and because he's my father and loves me). This past weekend he visited me and my family with his new family (if you know me, you know the story; new American family, marriages, divorce, today's realities, etc, blah blah blah - and truly it's not something that bothers me, ideal; no, but life rarely contains anything ideal or what we would think of as "what we want") and one of my belated Christmas gifts was this beautiful piece. An elegant, large, padded and leather bound case, with a tag and gold buckles. Regardless of the masterpiece of substance contained inside, this is an elegant piece of packaging.
On another note, I'm not one to take photos of products, nor have I done it often, but I really like how these (very quickly composed and prepared) shots turned out. This was taken on our kitchen table with only my flash and diffuser (seriously, no lie).
leather covers
The leather covers fold up compactly and are made up of a leather top (what you're seeing here) with firm padding and a felt base (the part that sits on the table). They are designed to protect the table when you're having a dinner party with hot plates and other items that might hurt the finish. A table cloth is typically placed over these covers for presentation.
