Parkour je vještina koja vam pomaže da prjeđete svaku prepreku prolazeći svoj put od točke A do točke B koristeči ljudsku snagu i mogučnosti.
Treba razumjeti da je ovu vještinu razvilo nekoliko vojnika u Vjetnamu koji su morali bježati da bi spasili svoj život, nije bilo vremena za salta, spinove... Morate razlikovati što je korisno, a što nije u hitnim situacijama.


Tako da kad radite akrobacije na ulici ili bilogdje drugdje kako bi se hvalisali molim vas nemojte to nazivati parkour! Akrobacije su postojale hrpu godina prije Park

Traceur je osoba koja je prošla proces treninga ili ti tako rečeno istrenirana ,ima iskustava i sposobnosti. Vrijeme je da prestanete gledati na parkour kao trend ili kao dječiju igru.Želim da ljudi budu svjesni svega ovoga i dati pravu sliku parkour-a. Umoran sam od gledanja glupih filmova i ljudi koji govore ono ko treniran godinu dana a izleda kao da su se tek sreli sa parkourom,oni misle da je parkour samo bacanje samog sebe sa drugog kata njihove kuće dok su im noge tek u razvitku,moramo dati parkour-u ozbiljnost,važnost i profesionalizm koji zaslužuje. jeli tako

Riječ upozorenja: pojedini ljudi -- oni bezobzirni -- koji su umišljeni sa svojim fizičkim mogućnostima i/ili ne uzimaju potrebnu količinu rizika cesto završe ozljeđeni. U Parkouru, stav je kombinirati tijelo i duh, snagu i kontrolu. Bezvezno je "tražiti slobodu", te onda završiti slomljen u kolicima -- stoga budite oprezni! Također, dobar Traceur (naziv za one koji treniraju Parkour) će biti odličan i u drugim sportovima koji zahtijevaju dobru okretnost, snagu, dobru samokontrolu, te toliko drugih kvaliteta koje Traceuri razvijaju dok treniraju "L'Art du Deplacement." Ovo je razlog zašto je Parkour najkompletnija vještina; istovremeno zahtjeva sve fizičke mogućnosti ljudskog tijela i sposobnost percepcije prostora, koja je ustvari trodimenzionalna: procjena daljina, procjena mogućnosti i procjena rizika.
