Pokusi na životinjama

Svi smo upoznati s pokusima na životinjama, ali možda i nisu svi upoznati s patnjom životinja koje sudjeluju u takvim pokusima... Poneki i zatvaraju svoje oči pred tim zločinima, poneki zatvaraju svoje uši da nečuju njihove bolne krikove, jer lakše je živjeti u neznanju i praviti se glup, nego pokušati suosjećati s tim životinjama i na bilo koji način pokušati pomoći.



Ja kao pojedinac nemam nikakvu moć...

To svima ispočetka prostruji kroz misli... i meni je mnogo puta ta misao prošla kroz glavu.. ali to je uobičajeni produkt straha od neuspjeha i od jedne dugotrajne borbe s vjetrenjačama. Znam da se ne čini da mi kao pojedinci možemo učiniti bilo što protiv velikih kompanija koje još vrše pokuse na životinjama, ali ako svi započnemo bojkot proizvoda koji se testiraju na životinjama i ako bude sve više i sve brojnijih prosvjeda protiv tih pokusa, stvari će se promjeniti...

Pa bolje je da se proizvodi testiraju na životinjama nego na ljudima...

Ne, nikako nije bolje. Nije dobro ni jedno ni drugo... Kao prvo, ako se proizvodi testiraju na životinjama to testiranje neće biti 100% sigurno, jer životinje nisu ljudi, a kao drugo životinje tim testiranjima neviđeno pate i ti testovi imaju grozne posljedice za njih. Naravno, u časopisima ćete čitati samo za ona testiranja koja su bila uspješna, a neka istraživanja se proglase uspješnima, pa imaju grozne posljedice za ljude. Npr. Hormon dietylstilbestrol je godinama bio preporučivan kao sredstvo za smirenje trudnicama. Desetak godina kasnije otkrilo se da uzrokuje novi, nasljedni oblik raka maternice kod 95% potomaka ženskog spola. Nije postojala životinja u kojoj bi taj hormon izazvao slične simptome.
Zanimljivo, zar ne?



Na kažem ja da bi se trebala vršiti testiranja na ljudima, nego bi se proizvodi trebali testirati nekim metodama koje su suvremene i stručne. Npr. možemo testirati na umjetno uzgojenim ljudskim stanicama u epruveti kojima ne samo da ćemo postići rezultate korisne za čovjeka, nego ćemo ujedno i shvatiti mehanizam djelovanja tvari, te pronaći mogućnosti kako liječiti trovanje. Ako nam je stalo do ljudskog zdravlja moramo ovaj surovi i barbarski način što prije zamijeniti uistinu stručnim metodama bez korištenja životinja.

Život u laboratoriju - pokusi na beaglovima

Dan 21.07.2005.god. je obilježen kao dan borbe protiv pokusa na životinjama i taj dan je obilježen puštanjem 32 psa pasmine beaglova s Veterinarskog fakulteta u Zagrebu (od kojih je Antun Brkić već polomio kosti stražnje desne noge na 22 psa), i konačno su predani udomiteljima. Psi su bili prestrašeni, traumatizirani, polomljeni, ranjeni, bolesni, pothranjeni, nakon godina života provedenih u uskim prljavim kavezima...

Taj dan obilježava borbu koja će trajati dok pokusi na životinjama ne prestanu, i iako su beaglovi s Veterinarskog fakulteta oslobođeni, krivci za ono što im se do dana oslobađanja događalo, nikad nisu kažnjeni...
