Celebrity Beauty Secrets: Alice Eve
To create a quick and chic up-do for my hair in the evening, I'll sprinkle a little Charles Worthington Salon At Home Root Lif Backcomb Powder into the roots and scrunch it up with a few pins.
How do you stay in shape?
I like to go running. It's easy and you aren't reliant on a trainer or gym membership.
Do you diet?
Not really, I just eat as healthily as possible - although sometimes I can't resist some chips! If I need to lose a pound or two, I revert to eating like a caveman, with lots of meat and vegetables, orange and green juices.
If you could change one part of your body, what would it be?
That would be telling!

Beauty secrets of Keira Knightley
The makeup in this short film was beautiful; how did it represent the woman you were portraying?
The woman I was portraying is modern, free, and independent. She has to seduce a man. So my makeup was strong, modern, and sexy at the same time.
What type of makeup do you prefer?
I don't have any favourite colours. It depends on the time of day. For evening, I like to have strong makeup. I trust the makeup artist. And during the day, I like to be with no makeup.
The secret to your flawless skin?
To be happy and in love.
Who would be your favourite hair stylist and makeup artist?
The hair artist I like is Odile Gilbert, who did my haircut recently, and for makeup I prefer Kate Lee, or Christophe Danchaud who did the look for the Coco Mademoiselle ad campaign.

BEHIND THE SCENES NATURAL BEAUTY: GET ISLA FISHER'S SUMMER LOOK
Isla has been on a plane more times the past few months than most women are in 10 years. Recirculated airplane air is incredibly dehydrating! I always start each makeup application with a face oil massage, but this time I really focused on pushing a lot of the product into her skin: Ila Face Oil for glowing radiance.
Once it had fully absorbed, I massaged in Soleil Organique 100% mineral sunblock for face, SPF 45 so that her fair skin wouldn’t burn during our long shoot in the sun. It’s very emollient and easy to spread, and the ever-so-slight white sheen inherent in all mineral sun blocks fades quickly.
I applied Vapour Organic Beauty Atmosphere Luminous Foundation Stick with a foundation brush very sparingly to create a flawless complexion, and then gently pressed a slightly damp beauty blender all over her face to ensure the perfect, natural texture.
To give her a beautiful rose bronze glow, I tapped Alima Pure Bronzer in Belize which as a slight reflective quality, and Alima Pure Satin Matte Blush in Pink onto the apples of her cheeks, and fully buffed it into the entirety of her cheek using a big soft brush.

Yvonne Strahovski’s Beauty Regimen
SKIN CARE
My morning routine is pretty basic and simple. I try to use natural products. I’m superconscious of not putting chemicals on my skin, like parabens and sulfates. I love MyChelle products. It’s this organic line that a friend, who is a makeup artist and facialist, introduced me to. I use the fruit and enzyme cleanser and then I moisturize with the pumpkin cream. They also have a couple of serums that I sort of go between, like this morning, I put on the G2 one, which is a firming serum.
I use a foundation by Koh Gen Do. I put it on with my hands. I think it spreads a more even layer. I’ll also do mascara, but I’m always changing up which brand. I’m still trying to find a really great natural one. I’ve used the Josie Maran one before, which is O.K. But one of my favorites is the pomegranate tinted lip balm by Burt’s Bees. I have them everywhere: one at home, one in my pocket, one in my purse. That’s pretty much it and then I’m out the door.
At night, I’ll follow the same routine as in the morning. I don’t use makeup remover, but just the same MyChelle cleanser. But I will use an exfoliator — they have a great one with enzymes — after a day of working in heavy makeup. Also, I’m very much into oils. Sometimes, I’ll put on this great 100 percent pure vitamin E oil. If my skin is irritated or it’s been a long work day, I like to put on a little lavender oil or maybe eucalyptus, which is really good for healing. And there’s this great Australian product called Papaw. It comes in a red tube and it’s a fermented fruit product that most people probably use as a lip balm, but I put it around my eyes and let it soak in overnight. It’s very moisturizing and you wouldn’t want to put it all over because it’d be too oily.

U.S. consumer debt rises in Q4 for first time in 4 yrs-NY Fed
Total consumer debt rose 0.3 percent to $11.34 trillion in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter, the New York Fed said in its quarterly household debt and credit report.
Consumer debt peaked in the third quarter of 2008 as the global financial crisis was taking hold. Since then, debt has fallen by about by 10 percent, or $1.3 trillion, in large part due to a drop in outstanding mortgages as Americans modified or defaulted on their loans.

Small-business growth and recovery are inseparable

Alona Tal, Star of The CW's "Cult," Parlayed Military Service Into a Hollywood Grind
She decided to uproot her entire life to America, a drastic change of lifestyle that would've been all the more daunting if Alona hadn't experienced a similar alteration three years prior. When she was 18, Alona began her mandatory service in the Israeli Defense Force. For a performing arts high school student, it was a serious departure from her previous ways of life. Stage plays and fictional characters were replaced by automatic weapons and superiors with titles like General and Lieutenant. But she wasn't scared. "It's a cultural norm, so you know it's coming," says Alona, 29. "You have 18 years to prepare yourself. Here in the States, you graduate, go on summer break, and then start college. In Israel, you finish high school and go into the force. It detached me from the umbilical cord a little bit."

Stretchable battery to power implants inside the human body
The revolutionary battery can be used anywhere, including the inside of the human body. It can stretch up to 300 percent of its original size and still function. It will power a commercial light-emitting diode (LED) for eight to nine hours – even when stretched, folded, twisted and mounted on a human elbow - before it needs recharging, which can be done wirelessly.
Yonggang Huang (Northwestern University) and John A. Rogers (University of Illinois) are the first to demonstrate a stretchable, implantable lithium-ion battery which could power implantable electronics that monitor brain waves or heart activity. Huang and Rogers have been working together for the last six years on stretchable electronics, and designing a cordless power supply has been a major challenge. Now they have solved the problem with their clever “space filling technique,” which delivers a small, high-powered battery.
