Jeff Koons & Louis Vuitton anyone?

srijeda, 12.04.2017.

Since Marc Jacobs enlisted Stephen Sprouse to create the now-iconic graffiti range in 2001, Louis Vuitton has led the way in the fashion/art collaboration stakes. And the latest creative given free rein on the brand’s accessories is seminal American Pop artist Jeff Koons.

How do you like it?

If Marlene lived in 2017

utorak, 04.04.2017.

When I was a teen, I always laughed at my mom's or my aunt's photos from the 80's. They all wore padded shoulders, trench coats, balloon dresses - and perm ofcourse. Well, now when I look at it - I feel pretty sorry they didn't keep it (clothes, not the perm, thank you). It is true what they say - everything comes back in circles - even the fashion.

Nowadays fashion seems to be some kind of a mix where Postwar meets 60's Psychedelia meets Johnny Rotten meets Lady Diana meets new Diesel campaign.

However, one thing is the same - his majesty (or maybe HER majesty) Trench Coat. I would always invest in one classic item as is Burberry's and then maybe in one of its crazier cousins. The thing is, whether you decide to combine it with a business suit or ripped jeans - it will always look somewhat classy.

I guess we all have seen Marlene Dietrich in "Foreign Affair" where she rocks her post - World War II trench looking tough but somewhat fragile in the same time. Believe it or not, this look is timeless:

Burberry Tropical Gabardine Trench Coat

Zara Floral Print Flowing Dress

Chanel Slingback Shoe

Today, most of the high street as well as couture brands are having a trench as one of their leading clothing piece:

Mango

Chloe

Diesel

Topshop

Rochas

Duck in a skinny jeans

I may be one of the most picky people when it comes to style. Ofcourse, I'm never thin enough, my boobs are always too big (as is my tummy), my legs... ok, I love my legs but you get what I mean. Therefore it's hard for me to find something that I really like wearing - and when I do I tend to stick on it. That's why I'm trying to find some unusual pieces that can be combined in different ways.

Whenever I'm shopping for trendy clothes - I tend to go cheap. If it's something that I think it'll be long-lasting - I like to invest. Howevever, I would like to look like one of those women who can pull up a trash bag and still look stylish. Somewhat like Amal. Instead I'm more like Amy Schumer - silly funny and, somewhat cute (at least I hope so).

Last two days I've spent in Belgrade, Serbia. I didn't know where to look because there were so many great looking girls and women. They all look similar like Croatian women - like they have a lot of money and they actually care much about the way they look. They are naturally beautiful (ofcourse, I'm not talking about 'starlets' who ruined their cute faces and bodies with huge amount of botox, silicone etc.) and thin. I looked like a walking duck in a skinny jeans. Oh well.

That's why I decided my next buy will be wide leg trousers that are hugely popular this spring/summer. Here are some of my picks:

Very wearable in most combinations:

A bit unusual cut but very interesting (and ASOS has a great sale now):

Or if you prefer jeans:

As I look at it, I imagine combining it with some platform heels or regular trainers. But that's for another mall visit :)

Moving to Ljubljana for a while

petak, 31.03.2017.

Ljubljana is a great city. And the spring started that makes it even better. You couldn't say it's a fashion mecca per se but there is some serious hipster art going on.

In the terms of food & wine Ljubljana is one of the kind. I had an honor to befriend Janez Bratovs - whose restaurant JB was voted as one of the 100 best restaurants in the world in 2015. Wen't to JB and was amazed. Let the photos do the talk :)

There are food markets (I don't miss Frankfurt at all) but here is on Fridays. With food goes wine - so you guess where you can find me. It's called 'Odprta Kuhna' (Open Kitchen) and it's just amazing. It could be described like huge restaurant gathering, made to satisfy everybody.

It's also nice just to take a walk, drink some coffee with friends or - if you really want to engulge yourself - take a drive to the coast. I found great and fresh Adriatic fish in Restaurant Pirat in pitoresque city of Piran (that three P's are written deliberately :p ). Trieste is actually very near so I drove to EATaly and bought some cool food and wines.

Here are some photo shoots from last few days and I'll let you know how it was at Odprta Kuhna today. Tomorrow is Zagreb and then Belgrade :)
