Electrical Submersible Pumps Manual

Torque multiplier use (4:1 reduction)
The appropriate size of socket (not depicted) is attached to the output drive of the torque multiplier (red). The reduction bar is placed on the ground to the left for clockwise torque application. The torque wrench (blue) is set to 1/4 of the torque desired and attached to the input drive. Torque is applied until the desired amount is attained.

Design Statement
Our response to the project brief is to propose galleries that enhance the flow of spaces within the existing Art Gallery and Museum and unify the visitor experience. At street level, our proposal welcomes the public by creating a new pedestrian link between Clarence Street and Chester Walk, the journey through inviting informal exhibition opportunities and direct access to a proposed cafe and shop in the adjacent Hugh Casson building. Stairs rise dramatically to link bridges connecting new and existing gallery spaces creating a void that allows for larger art installations. Administration accommodation is moved to occupy a reconfigured number 51. Galleries, adjacent storage rooms and workshops are stacked above the open ground floor, in a thermally massive structure to maximise thermal stability. Natural light is allowed at the ends of each gallery with passive solar shading louvres to control heat gain. These also provide on site power generation by incorporating the latest high concentration photovoltaic cells. Using ground source heat pumps to assist in cooling coupled with the building fabric’s thermal mass, allows the thermal flywheel effect to reduce demand for expensive climate control. Naturally ventilated circulation reduces the requirement for critical temperature control to sensitive galleries, art storage and workshops.
We have proposed to locally source materials from within a maximum 50 mile radius of the site, the majority within 25 miles. Inspired by Arts and Crafts, materials are natural, self-finished and durable so that expensive future maintenance is minimised with detailing describing honestly their construction and assembly.

Often when I get in from work I will slip into jeans or leggings and a pair of pretty shoes. Sometimes they are gorgeous high heels, but often I just slump into something more comfortable. This firebrick was photographed at the Dowlais Brook by Vantage Point, an office complex built on part of the Whitehead Brick Works, Ty Coch Way, Cwmbran. A little further upstream from Vantage Point is the site of the former GKN "White" (Refractory) Brick works (which started in 1842 as Hanson). Anyone any ideas about Plumb?

The well is here under this roof. That is a 130 watt solar panel on the roof. It powers a 12 volt pump that pumps the water into the tank. The blue box contains 2 deep cycle batteries to power to the booster pump that pressurizes the cabin plumbing system.

I hooked a sump pump to the dock, and pumped water into barrels that were loaded on the back of a truck. Once we filled all the barrels, we went back to the floats (wooden boxes that held oysters/crabs/peelers, soft crabs) and emptied the barrels of "fresh" water from the river. PVC pipes hung above the boxes and sprayed filtered water into the boxes. I was 8yrs old and was paid in soft crabs = GOLD. Once he gave me a $50 dollar bill, and I hauled ass home with it. Demanded mom get in the car and take me to Toys R Us immediately, where I purchased the Cabbage Patch Twins I had so badly desired.
Mr. & Mrs. P were the grandparents I never had.

New Sump Pump
We suspected that the old sump pump had died so we replaced it with a new 1/2hp unit rated for 4200gph. It took over six hours to remove all the water. The swing blade was used to keep floating debris from getting sucked up by the new pump. The orange extension cord leads to a shop light at upper left and plugs into an outlet in the "ceiling" of the crawl space.

Water Powered Machinery, Finch Foundry Iron Forge, Devon
Restored from a total wreck, the watermill known as the Finch Foundry in Sticklepath, Devon, is now a working exhibit. The primary machinery is mostly wood construction and the mountings for the tilt hammers are simply piles of woodblocks wedged together - no nails, bolts dowel pins or anything. At 2-3 blows per second the vibrations are so strong it slowly shakes the mountings apart and the wedges need to be sledgehammered back into place.
I think they said the lighter hammer was 3/4 ton, the other (in place but disconnected) closer to 1.5ton. This is said to have bounced beer glasses down the bar in the pub next door.
They have two coal forges, and a second mill wheel drives a (more efficient) rotary fan so no bellows are required. The cutting jaws at left have phenomenal cutting power, also water-powered via the main driveshaft.
I think they said 'technically' it's not a 'foundry' anymore, as this would suggest that they make Iron ingots here from ore. While they may have done this in the past, it's no longer a feature of their work! It is however, a superb exhibit (now under the wing of the National Trust), and I recommend it to anyone who is interested in industrial history.

We got nearly 4 inches of rain in 12 hours. The "sunken garden" was quickly flooded. I saw it rise by at least 2 inches in 30 minutes....Here, my husband is braving the waters to check on the secondary sump pump that I put down there a couple of hours previously....Thank goodness we didn't lose power today.
Mother Nature gave us some strong signals today - 2 hours after this photo, we had a 3.8 earthquake centered about 3 miles away.
