For those of you who dont know what this is, it's a clarinet. haha, it's from an awkward angle I understand and Im sorry. hehehehe. well, today's sunday and tomorrow's finals! I dont know whether I should be nervous or sad. Day1 tomorrow is finals for Chemistry and Health Class. Chemistry I dont think Im ready for basically because my teacher who doesnt teach us anything, is going to test us on things that we dont know a thing about. Yeah, and Health is gonna be a breezeeeee...we also have early dismissal at 12:16. I know right, 12:16...why not 12:15? That's so stupid. Anyways. My free time of posting pictures is gonna be over pretty soon. hahaha

Notes on Blackwood
In Cambridge for a Sound & Fair concert, a campaign Candescent collaborated with to raise awareness of responsibly harvested African blackwood forests in Tanzania, linking forest dependent communities in Tanzania with oboe and clarinet players in the west.
The Africa East jewellery collection by Candescent comprising of earrings, pendant, ring, brooch and bangle, are carved from the African blackwood, and imbued with pink rubies and 18ct gold.

This is one of the last pictures I took of my good friend and member of the famous "Ensemble Modern", Wolfgang Stryi. His funeral service took place on the day that would have been his 48th birthday......I miss him very much.....

Grocery store mariachi.
I was grocery shopping earlier this evening, and look who showed up at the store. Yup, a mariachi band! Apparently, it was one of the checkers' birthdays, and since it's Fiesta week, the grocery people chipped in for the band to play 4 or 5 songs. What a fabulous surprise! Um...that is...until I realized that I forgot my debit card, and ended up having to put everything back!

All I wanted was to be a mariachi, like my ancestors. But the city I thought would bring me luck brought only a curse. I lost my guitar, my hand, and her. With this injury, I may never play the guitar again. Without her, I have no love. But with the dog and the weapons, I'm prepared for the future.

City of Rocks delaying the storm
This is one of my favorite photos of the City of Rocks. I will always remember standing atop the granite rock, with a strong wind blowing in and watching the clouds in the distance swirl and race across the landscape. A true feeling of "being alive". OMT
The City of Rocks is located just a bit N.E. of where Nevada, Utah, and Idaho converge...next to Almo, Idaho.
The easiest way to get there is south from Burley, Idaho to Almo.
It is an internatinal destination for rock climbers who covet the steep granite spires. But it is also a place full of history (The California Trail) passed through here as did a stage coach route. Before the emigrants, Shoshone and probably Bannock Indians visited the game rich mountains and the much prized pinon pine nuts. This reserve has the largest stand of these trees (and the largest specimen), in the state.
You can drive from sagebrush to aspen groves in 15 minutes. Well located campsites dot the are in strategic locations.
It is a place to come back to. This was my first visit but it won't be my last. I already have my favorite campsite picked out.
THE ROAD TRIP (November 2008):
With gasoline at under $2.23 a gallon; a weather forecast for Utah that looked great for 10 days; I headed out on an impromptu road trip from my home in Eastern Washington, with three destinations on my "wish list":
City of rocks near Almo, Idaho
San Rafael Swell near Green River, Utah
Davis Gulch near Escalante, Utah
I made it to all three; took some interesting hikes; and just flat out enjoyed roaming about the countryside with camera (Canon G9) in hand, seeing places I hadn't seen before. Great trip! OMT

Guitare Manouche
Au corps plus large et moins epais qu'une guitare « folk », avec des cordes plus tendues (bien que dependant de chaque joueur) et fixees a la caisse par un cordier metallique selon un mode plus proche du violon que des guitares, la guitare manouche possede parfois un pan coupe et un manche assez fin. Elle est egalement dotee de six cordes, souvent metalliques.
Realisee a l'origine sous la marque Selmer, d'un luthier italien du nom de Maccaferri qui lui donnera cette forme singuliere, elle sera utilisee par de nombreux musiciens de jazz qui l'apprecient pour son son particulierement puissant et clair, mais surtout tres reconnaissable (se rapprochant un peu du son dut « feutre »).
C'est Django Reinhardt qui la popularisera vraiment, et la rendra indissociable de son style communement appele le jazz manouche. Au xxie siecle, les jazzmen manouches heritiers de Reinhardt (comme Bireli Lagrene, Fapy Lafertin, Tchavolo Schmitt, Stochelo Rosenberg ou encore Yorgui Loeffler) continuent d'utiliser ce type de guitare.
Depuis quelques annees, ce style de jeu - et par consequent l'utilisation de ce genre de guitare - devient a nouveau populaire.

Country music appreciation
TRP: I grew up listening to my dads rock stations and my moms country stations. I lean more towards classic rock now as a genre and you will rarely enter my house with out hearing Zeppelin blaring, but I still love several country songs and artists. I have a whole stack by the man in black and I have been to Nashville and DollyWood..several times as its only a days drive away. I love Tennessee like a second home, the place I used to stay in backed onto the smokey mountains. There was a balcony that over looked the main road in Pigeon Forge (home of DollyWood) and there was a little restaurant down bellow that would play live blue grass music outside every night.

1. She watches "A Christmas story" over and over, all day long every Christmas eve.
2. Photoshop is something she is addicted to
3. She also has an addiction to English Breakfast tea.
4. Doing surveys are yet another addiction.
5. It makes her angry that her bank does not have a coin counter.
6. Rock Band is her most favorite game of all time.
7. She can remember faces better than names.
8. Her favorite job was working on an Ice Cream truck.
9. Wal*Mart was her least favorite job.
10. She has been to Mexico more than she has been to Frostburg, MD (an hour away).
11. She is very particular on how toilet paper is put onto the roll.
12. She has tried beer once and it was the worst thing she ever drank.
13. She loves to smile to get a smile back. It makes her feel all warm and tingly inside, like the world is a happy place.
14. Hair is something she notices on guys first.
15. She collects notes and letters written from people.
16. People that only buy name brands get on her nerves.

45. Everytime she goes out, you can bet that she has her camera and her iPod in her pocket. If she is not broke, there is also money in her pocket.
46. She is probably the biggest germaphobe you know; as she frequently uses hand sanitizer. That could be the reason that she very rarely catches a cold.
47. At 5'7'' she is taller than most girls, and if she is standing beside someone (that is not a child) that is more than four inches shorter than her- It makes her feel awkward.
48. She never curses out loud; although she frequenty curses silently in her head and she wishes she could stop that.
49. Once she went to McDonald's and asked for meat loaf as a joke.
50. When she is driving she must have music on; if not, she will go insane.

The Dungy Doo as described by Angus Holgate 2 and a 1/2 year old.
He is a very very hairy short legs. He has long green pointy ears and a long thin grey tail. 2 teeth and 1 teeth and he likes to march and play trumpet, the drums and the shaker and the guitar. 2 small eyes with a long pointy nose.
And a beard a small head and a thin body.
He has 2 arms (Me: "But how is he going to hold and play all his instruments? Do you think he should have 4 arms?"). *sighs* Awright...he has 4 arms.
He’s laughing and he is happy daddy!
