Look 119-1 Femme Couture gel liners are crap as far as gel liners go but they do make a decent cream color base to help darken up eyeshadows. Femme Couture black gel liner as a cream base for whole lid. Mac Kohl Power in Feline (black) to line under eye and for water line. Beauties Factory Ultra Shimmer Gold #48 applied on top of the black and for the under eye on top of the black eye liner. Mac Kohl Pencil in feline for tear duct with Gold #113 on top. Red-eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) Red-eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) Red-eyed tree frogs, as their name states, have bold red eyes with vertically narrowed noses, a vibrant green body with yellow and blue striped sides, and orange toes. There is a great deal of regional variation in flank and thigh coloration . Although it has been suggested that A. callidryas' bright colors function as aposematic or sexual signals, neither of these hypotheses have been confirmed . Males range from 2 to 2 1/2 inches, while female range from 2 1/2 to 3 inches on average. Young frogs are typically brown in color and turn greener as they mature, although adult frogs can change their color slightly depending on mood and environment.Red-eyed tree frogs have soft, fragile skin on their belly, and the skin on their back is thicker and rougher. Their predators include spiders, snakes, bats, and birds. The red-eyed tree frog has three eyelids and sticky pads on its toes. Phyllomedusid tree frogs are arboreal animals, meaning they spend a majority of their life in trees, which also makes them great jumpers and gives it its nickname the monkey frog. Red-eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and rely on camouflage to protect themselves. During the day, they remain motionless, cover their blue sides with their back legs, tuck their bright feet under their belly, and shut their red eyes. Thus, they appear almost completely green, and well hidden among the foliage. Red Eye Tree Frog Although the Red Eye Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is native to the Rain Forests of Costa Rica, I didn't get to see one while I was on holiday there last November, despite looking for them. Since December I have been "pet sitting" two of them in a spectacular looking vivarium. Complete with waterfall and plants. They are without doubt one of the most amazing and bizzare coloured of all animals. They have the red eyes, lime green body, yellow sides, blue legs and orange feet. They sit perfectly still with no sign of movement, they really are a photographers dream. Unfortunatly, my "pet sittings" will be coming to an end and they will be going back to their owner. They sleep on the underside of leaves, completely tucked up during the day and eat at night. The males grow to 5cm and the female over 7cm. Unlike a lot of frogs, they dont have web feet but suckers on their toes making them very agile climbers. They spend most of their time in the trees and are very good jumpers. They absorb water droplets through their porus skin, it is important that they live in a very humid environment. They also have the ability to change colour depending on their mood. Day 168, 6/16/08 I love the tone of this. It's different and mellow compared to a lot of what I have. My mom did my makeup. She's amazing. And I didn't add color to it, it's just rad. Went to lunch with Erin and her momma, I love those ladies. I'm staying at Erin's tonight. The boy is taking me somewhere on Friday - he's in Temecula for a few days. If you see a bunch of punks around there, take pictures of them. Or just be mean and yell at them. Anyway, yeah. He's taking me somewhere, but not telling me where. It's driving me crazy! All I know is we have to do some walking, he has to buy something, it's romantic, I can dress casually, and the time of day is important. But he isn't telling me the time of day. I secretly think it's a picnic. :) But whatever. I hope I'm wrong because I want to be surprised! In other news, I think I'm going to hold an open photoshoot for some friends. Set up at a local school, and have my black backdrop up somewhere. Get my external flash going [Dad's, anyhow], get a little makeup booth going, maybe bring a curling iron. I wish Bianca wasn't grounded! Her hair skillz + my photo skillz. Z's. I'm excited. Avantgarde Today we had a very exciting shooting. Our favorite hairdresser had his Meisterprufung today. He used our favorite model for this. Dead tired after the long exam day they droped by for a few shots. We used the chance to test our new gear in studio. I must admit I am blown away with the quality of the camera and especially the unique lens 135 mm STF. More pictures will be posted on our blog. And thank you my dear for some light inspiration. Late June Lush and Makeup All the Lush is from Tampa's Grand Opening Party - $51 got me Candy Fluff, Ocean Salt, Tea Tree Water and 1/4 lb. Sexy Peel. With that purchase I got a neat goody bag with a Sexy Peel soap (in smiley face), Hot Milk Bubble Bar, and a Dream Cream Sample. Of course, the great thing about RSVPing for this event was the Grand Opening bomb that might contain a $100 gift card, and a cute little cookie! I got a Sugar Rush bomb for answering a trivia question right. Meanwhile, International Plaza has some things that I can't get in Orlando: Make Up For Ever at their Sephora and Shu Uemura! I've never tried MUFE, but in the spirit of bright, fun makeup, I got the No. 26 eyeshadow (bright pink). At Shu, I got ME Brown 851 and ME Brown 850, and a couple of samples of their Skin Purifier and Depsea Moisturizer. It's been more than two years since I've been to a Shu counter! Earlier in the week, I got two shadows from MAC in Fab & Flashy and Wondergrass from the C-Shock collection. Wondergrass is actually very close to a color I already own, so I don't know how long I might hold onto it. I also grabbed a cheap lip brush from BBW and Revlon's Lash Jewels from a drugstore (it was only $3!). Day 54 16/07 Just got paid. Splashed out on some Revlon make-up; the photo ready foundation which has spf20 in it!, some lilac lip gloss, mint nail varnish (which by the way is probably the most amazing colour nail varnish I have ever owned!) I also got a tiny fragrance set and coconut and almond hair mask from boots (which by the way is the best hair mask I have ever used, better even than the Aussie ones and so much cheaper.) How To Do A Perfect Make Up
When Did THAT happen? “It’s criminal…there ought to be a law… “Criminal! Sheree’s off shooting Ultimate Fighters. No doubt she’ll come back enthusing about the many images she’s taken of bloodied cage warriors and delighted fans. I’ll be glad to look at them. But for now it’s just me and our old lady cat. And the music. Always the music. I am playing around with images I took with my new Nikon D5000. It has a nifty little screen I can bend down or over (the screen. Not me)…and THIS allows me to take some spiff close-up shots of my own eye. Ain't tech grand? I could probably take an image right up my own right nostril if I wanted to...which (lucky for you) I don't. I am thinking back a few lifetimes ago to when I was in college. One day I shrugged my shoulders and decided to make my goal "becoming a reporter." So I was working toward a career in journalism with a dozen other young people. We all vowed to change the world one day. I was a reporter for twelve years…but oddly enough, as far as I know, none of us managed to change a damn thing, let alone the whole world. The world, it turns out, is impervious to change. Who knew? I remember college: darkrooms filled with foul smelling chemicals. I remember too many late night study sessions. I remember the sharp and welcome sting of cold beer at the back of my throat. I remember the two step my heart did on the rare occasions when a pretty girl smiled at me...and the way my soul flew into a thousand joyful pieces when Jimmy Page or one of the Young brothers ripped loose with a perfect riff. I remember being young. I still am. Young. At least I think…I am…young. I look at the eye looking back at me and I wonder where the gray hair came from and when that eye started looking so old. I don’t feel old. I feel like I’ve always felt: that I am just getting started…that miles of life are still in front of me...a literal infinity of “days to come.” The eye staring back at me says something different. It promises that there are fewer days to come than those behind…that gray hair appears for a reason…and that bald spot at the top of my head isn’t an illusion. I am getting older. **sigh** I sit here with my precious Bose earphones on my ears listening to other old people sing to me. They are time travelers, because they are singing to me in my now, from a time when neither of us was so old. I hear Bon Scott and Bruce Springsteen. Billy Idol and Robert Plant…and I think that we must all be old now. Aren’t we? Are we? Are you? I ask the question because as I wrote this, Angus just slammed home a riff that made my soul rise to meet it. I paused to close my eyes so I could simply exist and enjoy it. Are we old? I ask the question because I can hardly count the sleeps until Sheree and I get into the car and go poke around Sturgis – the biggest biker rally in the world. I am beside myself with anticipation at the people we will meet…the things we will do. We’re going to hear Bob Dylan (who is SIXTY-FRICKING-NINE this year)...and ZZ Top, guys who were born looking old, and who are rocking harder than ever. I wonder if I will ever be old…and I wonder if the people of my generation know HOW to get old. I wonder if there will ever be a time when we are too old to love…too old to stop and listen to good music…or look in wonder at a sunrise knowing, as we do, that there are a finite number of them ahead of us. I wonder when we will be too old to feel our spirits sing at the promise of a new adventure. I wonder if I will ever be old… …I hope not. How Big Are The Small Things? [VIVA LA WHITE GIRL! :D Just thought I'd put that out there :) I was sick today, I've had a sore throat since Friday and had a fever most of the weekend and today I have a cold and headache. Kurdistan Workers' Party (Kurdish: Partiya Karkeręn Kurdistan (PKK) The Kurdistan Workers' Party (Kurdish: Partiya Karkeren Kurdistan, commonly known as PKK, is a Kurdish organization which has since 1984 been fighting an armed struggle against the Turkish state for an autonomous Kurdistan and greater cultural and political rights for the Kurds in Turkey. The group was founded on 27 November 1978 and was led by Abdullah Ocalan. The PKK's ideology was originally a fusion of revolutionary socialism and Kurdish nationalism - although since his imprisonment, Ocalan has abandoned orthodox Marxism.[10] The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization internationally by a number of states and organizations, including the United States and the European Union.[6][11] Turkey labeled the organization as an ethnic secessionist organization that uses terrorism and the threat of force against both civilian and military targets for the purpose of achieving its political goal. History of the Kurdistan Workers' Party PKK supporters at the protest in London. In the early 1970s, the organization's core group was made up largely of students led by Abdullah Ocalan ("Apo") in Ankara. The group soon moved its focus to the large Kurdish population in south-east Turkey. On November 27, 1978, the group adopted the name "Kurdistan Workers Party". Espousing a radical Far Left Marxist ideology, the group took part in violent conflicts with right-wing entities as a part of the political chaos in Turkey at the time. In 1979, as a propaganda of the deed, the group attempted to assassinate Kurdish tribal leader Mehmet Celal Bucak who they claimed exploited the peasants, and collaborated with Turkey. This marked a period of intense urban warfare between other radical political elements. The 1980 Turkish coup d'etat pushed the organization to another stage with the members doing jail time, being subject to capital punishment, or fleeing to Syria. On November 10, 1980, the Turkish Consulate in Strasbourg, France was bombed in a joint operation with the Armenian radical group ASALA, which they claimed as the beginning of a fruitful collaboration. Starting in 1984, the organization transformed itself into a paramilitary group, using training camps located in France, and launched attacks and bombings against governmental installations, the military, and various "institutions of the state" - some of which were connected to the Southeastern Anatolia Project. The organization moved to a less centralized form, taking up operations in a variety of European and Middle Eastern countries, especially Germany and France. The PKK has attacked civilian and military targets in various countries, such as Turkey, France, Belgium and Iraq. Beginning with the mid 1990s, the organization lost the upper hand in its operations as a consequence of a change of tactics by Turkey and Syria's steady abandonment of its support for the group. In the mid 1990s, it also began a series of suicide bombing attacks. 15 such attacks were performed, 11 of which were carried out by females. In the late 1990s, Turkey increased the pressure and the undeclared war between Turkey and Syria ended open Syrian support. In 1999, Ocalan was captured, prosecuted and sentenced to death, but later commuted to life imprisonment as part of European Union membership. With downgraded security concerns, the Turkish parliament began a controlled process of dismantling the legal control, using the term "normalization" or "rapprochement" depending on the sides of the issue. The bans on broadcasting and publishing in the Kurdish language were partially relaxed - although significant barriers remained. the same time, the organization was blacklisted in many countries. On April 2, 2004, the Council of the European Union added the organization to its list of terrorist organizations. Later that year, the US Treasury moved to freeze assets of branches of the organization. The organization went through a series of changes, and the unilateral truce that was declared when Ocalan was captured, ended in 2003. Since Post-invasion Iraq, 2003–present, Turkey alleges that Massoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the US-led coalition forces, have not done enough to combat with the organization and dislodge it from its base in the Iraqi mountains. In an interview during April 2010 the leader of the armed wing of the PKK, Murat Karayilan, admitted to his organization having attacked a group of approaching American soldiers in 2004 in North Iraq and killing at least one of them. Built in Italy as the container ship Contender Bezant, she was taken up from trade by the RFA during the Falklands War and subsequently converted by Harland and Wolff in Belfast before being accepted into RFA service in 1988. Her primary role is to provide specialist aviation training facilities to the Fleet Air Arm. As such, she is often to be found sailing on ten-day deployments to Vigo or Lisbon with a Naval Air Squadron embarked, giving trainee aircrew intensive at-sea flying experience. More than two-thirds of her length is taken up by a five-spot landing deck, which has a 5ft-thick concrete underside, giving Argus the ability to operate any of the Royal Navy's helicopters - the new Merlin has been operating from the ship in a trials programme in recent months. Argus can also, when required, transport and launch RN FA2 Sea Harriers or RAF GR7 Harriers. All flying operations are manages from Argus' Flyco - an air traffic control centre. She has two aircraft lifts which serve four hangar spaces below the flight deck. The hangars are separated by watertight doors which can be closed in cases of collision or battle damage. Her design may have resulted in a less-than-graceful appearance, but it is also the key to her valuable versatility. As a logistic ship she can transport cargo and vehicles, housed on deck or in the hangars - a door built into the hull on the starboard side allows vehicles to be driven directly on board. This makes loading and unloading Argus a relatively fast operation - exploited to the full when Argus was part of the UK's contribution to the UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in the former Yugoslavia. The ship is also equipped with a hospital complex which includes two operating theatres and beds for 96 casualties, installed when the ship deployed to the Gulf in 1990. The hospital complex is due to be upgraded during her next refit. But because Argus does not comply with Geneva Convention/International Red Cross requirements - for example, she can be fitted with guns for self-defence, and have operational units embarked - she is referred to as a primary casualty reception ship. You start from a stand still, accelerate through cones, change lanes, go through a series of narrowing cones, and then turn left or right (depending on the instructor's last second call), and then stop as fast as you can (to get the ABS to kick in). The rig is also really wide, so you have to practically sit right on top of the left cones. I ran through this part of the course almost 10 times. Swiped a lot of cones too. :) (Made it through completely on the last try though!) I also did the course driving an aid car. If you're astute you'll notice the church in the background. Yes, turning right meant turning towards the church. Not stopping would involve running into the church. I'd imagine not too many would be happy about that. We were joking about making it on America's Stupidest Videos or something like that. (15) SJS Air Unit 31 At about 1:30 P.M., on Friday, July 2, San Jose Fire received reports of a balcony on fire that was spreading to the roof of an apartment complex. County Engine 11 reported heavy smoke visible from the Fire Station driveway and upon arrival request a second alarm. Within 15 minutes, San Jose Battalion 10 struck a third alarm.
