I’m kind of diggin’ the glasses. And I’m kind of not. I half like them and I half don’t.

I got to thinking this morning I saw Johnny Depp (sexiest dude alive?) on a picture with the exact same glasses and with the same groovy hats that I usually wear. I felt a little better.

Except my ass ain’t no Johnny motherfucking Depp.

They (being the glasses) offer a different view of me. But I like it. Sometimes.

Fuck the glasses, let’s get to the real reason I’d feel insecure (imagine that).

My fucking goddamn “used to be perfect but I didn’t wear my retainer” teeth suck ass. They blow. My smile sucks. They are protruding out of my mouth like a goddamn reject. And they are getting worse by the day.

I went to an Orthodontist today and got the consultation. I got the impressions of my teeth. They gave me the x-rays. And I heard the talk on how narrow my upper jaw is.

Then that motherfucker laid it down the hard way.

“Hey Doc, how much is this going to cost, G” (I didn’t really say “G”)

“Oh, 6000 bucks, but …………………………..”

The rest was a blur. I tuned him out and saw the dollars floating out of my wallet like angels floating towards the heavens.

But, hello straight teeth? HELL YEAH.

But- fucking lord on earth if you have any sense how can you allow this really cool man to charge my really equally cool ass so much money to fix my fucked up teeth.

Well fuck it I’m doing it. Dude and his killer hot girl staff wants 20% down payment and a 24 month payment on the remainder on those bad boys. Yes – that’s right. Dude-doctor said I’d have to wear the fucking braces for TWO YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m bad. I was going to go for a second opinion. I mean get a second opinion on cost and possible use of “Invisalign” which he said I wasn’t a candidate for. Maybe get a better price somewhere else? See what the rest of the orthodontist world thought of my stupid teeth?

Okay I didn’t say that. I kept it real. But when she was putting the shit in my mouth making me BITE DOWN on some plastic piece of shit and I’m looking straight at her 25 year old hottie pre-orthodontist eyes, I knew I wanted to come back to this guys office for 2 years.

Haha, I swear I am SO gentlemanly in my ways with girls its not even funny. But I am a thirty-one year old single guy and ON THE PROWL. (giggle)

So Doctor “65-year-old” Parker won me over with his hot staff. I’m back. I’m doing it. I’m putting on your 6000-dollar braces for a SECOND TIME (first time I didn’t wear my retainer). And I can’t wait to correct this shit and make it right.

For the record, I’m paying an extra 600 bills to do the clear braces. Waste of money? Maybe. I spend 2 years of my life with these fuckers on my teeth. Maybe not?

i pulled the text, bookworm, and water from my logo that i made earlier. i used the eliptical marque tool to create a circle for the water. then i cut the v-neck out for the t-shirt for the water. i added a mask for the t-shirt. then i added a filter for the bookworm. the filter is the distort>displace one which just makes the wrinkles of the t-shirt come through to the image. i wasn't able to to this to the text because it distorted it way to much and it was illegible.

i think it turned out great..

Day 146: Was I the bullet or the gun?

There was this moment this morning on the Bart, I can't even describe it. It would make absolutely no sense at all but I almost burst into tears laughing. Bite marks on the side of my cheek to prove it. I love riding the Bart despite the smells, horrible a/c heater controls, ear exploding tunnels, and my missing $9 a day.

Ahhh so much to catch up on! Here's the gist of it:

I am 20! My birthday was on the 1st. My parents & I drove to Suffern, NY to visit my Beth, Tom, Chloe, Marley, and Zoe. Scott came over for dinner. Indian food and birthday cake yum. Presents yay.

Went to Ikea. Bought awesome stuff for my new apartment.

My sister got her jeans and shirt stuck on a doorknob. Hilarious story.

Suprise! More birthday cake today at a restaurant.

TOMORROW: ISRAEL 'TIL THE 12TH! I am terrified of the flight. Everyone tells me that I will be fine though. Combo of excitement & nervousness. Will take lots of picture, but with my mom's point & shoot. I'm too nervous to bring my nice dslr. Hope you all still like the Israel pictures!

So I will be gone from the 3rd-12th. See you then! :)

My friend/acupuncturist Keri gave this to me yesterday. I think it might be one of the best presents I've ever gotten. :)

Her father's friend used to deliver mail to Debbie's house and he got this autographed picture for her.

She learned of my childhood (and what seems to still be so in adulthood) crush when I told her all about how Debbie Gibson was at Pride.

She went home for the weekend to celebrate her father's birthday and dug this out of the attic. How cool is that?

I love the fact that it has tack marks in the corner and the edges are a little yellowed. I think about how cool it must've been to hang an autographed photo on your wall as a kid.

I heart it. I'm thinking about where to hang it. I might just frame it and put it in my bedroom for old times sake. :)

Luigi, fourth son of Giovanni and Ghiozie Bimbi, was born on April 3, 1912. His mother's maiden name was Verdiana, and she was twenty- five years old at the time of his birth. His father was forty-one.
He was christened Louis on April 18, 1912, at St. John the Evangelist--a Roman Catholic Church--in New York City. On his Baptismal certificate, his mother's name is spelled Ghioziti Gini. He was raised in the Catholic religion, and took the name John as his confirmation name.
His older brothers were Peter, Francis (Frank) and Michael, about whom he never knew until later on when his sister-in-law told him after we were married. Michael came between Frank, and Louis.
Giovanni Bimbi came from Florence, Italy to make his way in the new world. At age thirty-five, he sent back to Italy for his bride, as was the custom in those days. She was sixteen years younger than he, and there is no information as to from what part of Italy she came. Lou was only two years old when his mother died, and he had no remembrance of her.
A housekeeper came in during the day to take care of the children. Their father worked as a terrazzo (tile) setter, and it was a hard, intricate trade. Lou used to tell me how his father would come home with cut, bleeding fingers. Many of the New York City hotels and banks have terrazzo floors that he helped to install. During World War I, he was working in a large hotel, and was able to bring extra food home from the kitchen. The war years were hard ones.
The boys were brought up to cook, clean, and mend; and, when older, they would take turns starting dinner before their father returned from work.
When Lou was fourteen and had finished the eighth grade, he quit school and went to work at various jobs. The boys insisted their father retire because of his difficult work. The only other schooling Lou had was a business course at Pace Institute at night.
The family lived in a mixed neighborhood, and had many friends of all ethnic groups. Lou's best friends were Arthur Taylor and Fred Manning, who also lived nearby. They met playing "stickball" in the streets. The game was played using a broom or mop handle for a bat, and the fire hydrants and sewer covers for bases. To this day, a New York City street is closed for a day and the old-timers come back for a game.
I believe the best semblance of a complete family life for Lou was with the Taylors. He always spoke fondly of the mince tarts Mrs. Taylor made during the holidays, and of being served tea in large bone china cups that were almost the size of soup bowls. Also, many fun evenings of playing cards were shared.
At an early age, Lou went to work for the Elizabeth Arden cosmetic firm. The factory was only a half block from his home. He also obtained a chauffeur's license and besides making deliveries to special customers, he was assistant chauffeur. Lou spoke of the many trips to Belmont Park, where Miss Arden kept her horses, and Sarasota for the races. Other trips were to the Maine Chance Farm-- a health spa.
As a young boy, Lou spoke of skinny-dipping in the East River; walking across the 57th Street Bridge to play sandlot baseball on the then open fields of Long Island; jumping on the back of the horse drawn ice wagons for a piece of ice; coal in their stockings at Christmas (I'm not sure if he was kidding); his father making wine in the cellar of their apartment -no, he didn't stomp the grapes with his feet- he had a wine press!
Against his father's wishes, Lou bought a bicycle, and when his father found it, he sawed it in half. He thought the New York streets were too dangerous for the boys to ride.
Lou always wanted a white sweater, and when he bought one, his father made him return it, saying it was impractical.
The boys always got one new suit each Easter, and a new white shirt which they washed and ironed every day to wear to school. they had to keep their shoes shined, and you must all remember Dad polishing his!
Their father was a strict disciplinarian, but was respected and loved by his sons.
Lou spoke with fondness of the Prescott House, named after Prescott Van Wyck, a socialite, who also had a summer home in Butler, New Jersey, where the Boy Scouts, to which Lou belonged, had a camp across the lake from the main house.
The young teenagers enjoyed the facilities of the neighborhood house, playing pool and ping-pong, and putting on fund raising shows. Lou often had the singing lead.
Arthur and Lou played on a Protestant Church basketball league, and Arthur told me that even though he was the tallest, at six feet seven inches, Lou was the better player because he was very fast in covering the court.
As young men, they spent part of their summer vacation at Sackett's Harbor on Lake Ontario. The home was owned by friends of the Taylors, and they enjoyed getting out of the city and being in the clean country air. Lou used to mention the

Colonel Harland Sanders has become a world-known figure by marketing his "finger lickin' good" Kentucky Fried Chicken. His chicken is now served daily across the United States as well as in more than eighty other countries. It is one of the largest fast food corporations in the world.

The spectacled Colonel Sanders could easily be identified by his clean, crsip white suite, black string tie, and walking cane. A statue of this man can be seen as far away as on Nathan Road in Kowloon, Hong Kong, for one place.

What makes Colonel Sanders' story so amazing, you might ask. One of the most amazing aspects of his life is the fact that when he reached the age of sixty-five years old, after running a restaurant for several years, Harland Sanders found himself penniless. He retired and received his first social security check which was for one hundred and five dollars. And that was just the beginning of his international fame and financial success story...

Harland Sanders was born in the month of September in the year of 1890. He was the oldest child in a family of five. His father toiled in the coal mines of Kentucky until his death, which came at a young age. Sanders had just reached the tender age of six years old when he had to take care of his younger brother and sister. With his father gone, that left the responsibilities of working and supoprting the family up to his mother. She began working in a shirt factory. Harland tended to things at home and learned to cook the meals by his mother's teachings. She taught him how to cook many foods, including fried chicken.

Over the next several years, Harland Sanders worked at a variety of jobs. He started out as a farm hand, then moved on to be a streetcar conductor while he was still just a teenager. From there he was a fireman on the railroad and finally ended up running a service station. Once again, he used his cooking skills that were learned from his mother to provide meals for travelers who stopped at his service station. As his cooking became more famous, and his food business grew, he moved into an actual restaurant nearby. His specialty was, of course, fried chicken which was seasoned with his original blend of eleven herbs and spices.

A few years later, in the year of 1935, when Sanders was forty-five years old, then Governor Ruby Laffoon made him a Kentucky Colonel because of his delectable cooking skills.

Progress is not always for the good of everyone, and in the 1950's, Colonel Harland Sanders got the news of the plans for a new highway which was going to be constructed. The highway could divert the majority of the traffic away from the town and, with the beginning of the highway, Colonel Sanders saw his successful business coming to an end. I don't really have much to say about today, but it was pretty funny when I was trying to shoot today's 365, I thought it would be mad sunny in the afternoon but instead, the weather decided to come dark and cloudy in a sudden and then it began to rain. How great. I tried to post-process the photo in an attempt to disguise the weather, yeah, that didn't really work.
All the technicalities aside, I've been so into metal for the past few days, I recently bought the Big 4 dvd with Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth and omfg it is soooooo good! And so that's the reason for my Metallica shirt and the 'toughness' look. Yeah, that didn't really work out either. Tried to make it look fashiony and 'hip'. Ahaha. And I'm still not metalled out, though the constant headbanging is starting to make me a bit dizzy.

Mickey Mouse Club

Given to me by one of my mom's student's parents who once tried to get me a job in Disney. The shirt came in useful a year later when I had to go to a 50s themed party and had no costume. This and some Ears and I was set. Then I went and dropped a nice and tasty meatball on my white shirt. The stain is there as proof.

Note "The Walt Disney Studios" at the bottom. Remnants from the scare that was undergoing for a while about Disney losing the MGM name.

Baby Scrub Jay

A shot from the spring of 2005, this little fellow must have fallen out of his nest a few weeks to early. We took charge of him for about 2 weeks. Feeding him several times a day and making sure he was safe at night. Fortunately for junior here this was before we had cats. His parents would come down and feed him during the day as well when I placed him in a safe tree in the back yard.

Soon he was quite strong and determined and able to flap a few feet off the ground. By that time he was ready to join his family again and left us for a more natural bird life.

Interestingly enough, we now have a Jay that often bathes in our pond and has been known to squawk at us and fuss until we set out some food for him. I seriously wonder if this animated character is my baby.

At any rate, the whole bird saving experience was a very enjoyable one at the time.

After living in exile in China for the last 6 months Ace Preston now returns to New York to join the Wall Street Protestors who have no idea of what a real revolution is about. Only Absolute Violence will change the most brutal corrupt government regime the world has ever experienced.

There was no doubt that Ace Preston was a military genius and knew where to go and when. Like a bronze demi-god in the form of Alexander the Great of Macedonia executing corrupt officials on his way to Susa and suppressing mutineers at the town of Opis or standing firmly at the hot gates of Thermopylae with King Leonidas, or in Iberia with Gauis Julius Caesar at the Battle of Munda, or the Battle of Brienne with Napoleon DaBonaparte , or with the 33. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS Charlemagne, the last defenders of the Fuhrerbunker, Ace Preston was ahead of the US government and many others.

Using his gifted 6th sense and wearing A "blood shirt" in Chinese character which read:

Ace Preston specialized in feints, masked strategy, surprises, ambushes, flank attacks, pounces from the rear, and stratagems. He also met the enemy head-on in frontal assaults and fought with such fury that again and again he wiped them out.

Like Mao Zedong, Ace Preston shared the distinction of being one of the few commanders never wounded. Engaged on the front in more than a hundred battles, in field command for more than 10 years, exposed to every hardship that his men have known, with a reward of $100,000 on his head, he miraculously remained unhurt and in good health.

Chiefly due to Ace Preston's extraordinary talent as a tactician, he destroyed, defeated, or out maneuvered every government force sent against him and was never broken in battle ...

With the resumption of Civil War in Wall Street New York, Ace Preston decided to head back to the USA and lead the assault against the capitalist/communist forces which has taken over the nation. First by overthrowing City Hall then sweeping North into Albany assaulting the corrupt State Government.

Ace Preston and his Black Beret leaders intended to take over the whole State of New York as their base before a frontal attack on Washington D.C., but with the larger police force at hand funded by the tax payers it was clear that they would have to fight for it, for the sake of bargaining for peaceful negotiations, Ace Preston had ordered assembled key armies to defend 'National Redoubters', which was against the previous strategy. Should he suffer a major defeat, and retreat before receiving clear orders Ace Preston suggested seriously that the Black Berets should change its strategy. In achieving victory, they must have to abandon the cities and employed Mao's strategy of guerrilla warfare and winning peasant support in the countryside.

In 2010, at the outbreak of the Red Shirt Rebellion in Thailand, Ace Preston called for the assembly of a volunteer army to help government forces suppress the rebellion. Ace Preston led his column to join the provincial army. Together, they scored several victories against the rebels. In recognition of his contributions, Ace Preston was to be appointed with that of a higher rank than Commander. He resigned after refusing to submit to a corrupt inspector who attempted to ask him for bribes.

Ace Preston was headed north to Laos and met a fortune teller on the way. The fortune teller told him: "God kills the black dragon in the north today. Now, your complexion is dark. You must not go north." He then traveled north to China with his followers to join another volunteer army to suppress other rebel remnants in the border wars before China sinks into civil war and chaos overrun by rebels.
Meantime, Ace Preston raised troops around the area, and actively built up connections with influential clans and people of the region. In a rather short period of time, he had gained the support of the two most powerful families in Chengdu Sichuan Province and also arranged marriage with such families to draw support from the clan.

Ace Preston then returned to the border wars of Thailand and Cambodia on receiving the news of the new Thai election but his stand-by army disintegrated by the time he reached there. He rallied
