QUESTION OF THE WEEK
Q: We love seafood. Anything new in Cleveland?
A: Tom’s Seafood Restaurant (3048 St. Clair Ave.; 216- 771-1928) is the newest storefront in central Cleveland’s Asian district, and it appears to be a welcome one. The new owners have upgraded furniture, added a sleek wall of fish tanks and remodeled the restrooms. The two dishes we tried didn’t have dynamic flavors, but the techniques were in fine shape. The lightly breaded grouper ($9) arrived neatly with moist fish, crisp edges and no spare oil. The braised beef brisket with white carrot ($9) had a fork-tender texture and silky sauce. We’ll be going back to select from the long list of $6-$7 lunch specials that come with egg roll and rice.
