General Electric T9V3C 12" portable
GE portables were introduced into Australia in 1964 when James N Kirby Appliances started manufacturing them here. The first was an 11" set with external 240-110V transformer. The appearance of the sets is the same as their US originals, but ours were fitted with mostly local parts; transformers, resistors, capacitors, tuner, etc. The electrical design of the sets uses the same PCB, with IF's tuned to local frequencies and field frequency 50c/s. A "General Electric" badge hides the hole where the UHF tuner is fitted to the US models. This T9V3C was introduced in the late 60's.
