Tumski Hotel Wroclaw

Tumski reflected
Just back from a few wonderful days in Poland. I've spent the last few days in the city of Wroclaw in Silesia. It's been a fascinating trip full of contrasts.
The reflection is of my hotel on the island of Ostrow Tunski in the river Odra. The island is the original seat of the city where cathedrals and monasteries condense together. It's a place of cobbled streets, hushed nuns and priests. Other than the grafitti there is a distinct lack of urban intrusion.

Diese vermutlich im Zweiten Weltkrieg verursachte Beschadigung der Brucke habe ich bereits 1992 einmal fotografiert. Meine Sorge, dass die Brucke renoviert oder durch das Oderhochwasser 1997 beschadigt worden sein konnte, erwies sich als unbegrundet.
