MCCONAUGHEY’S THOUGHTS ON PARENTAL ABUSE
During an interview with Today in November 2020, McConaughey opened up about his upbringing. The star actor, who grew up in Texas, recalled that his parents’ behavior towards him could be considered child abuse, although he pleaded not to think so.

When asked if his parents’ behavior was wrong, the actor, who shared some of his tough childhood stories in his memoir “Greenlights,” replied:
“I was scared at the time, but even then and immediately after, I never questioned the love mom and dad had or the love they gave us.”
He also explained that he told the sometimes gory, ugly and violent stories of his childhood because “these were the times when the love we had – which was never questioned – was most challenged. , but never had a chance to be beaten.”
When asked if he considered his parents to be abusive, Mr McConaughey replied that it was not fair for anyone else to say so if a sane person aware of what s happened says that is not the case. He explained :
‘I’m not in denial about reality. My mum and dad are not in denial. So I don’t know if it’s really fair for someone to tell someone else,’ Oh, you were victimized, and you were abused’.”

Pacino said he decided to be a better father than his own, and since welcoming his children, he has been an integral part of their lives and shares a close bond with them.

Of course, this was all wrong and the unfortunate investors never saw their precious bitcoins again. Since fraudulent sites operating on the same principle have multiplied: “Bitcoin Revolution”, “Bitcoin Evolution” or “Bitcoin Trader”.
L’Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) continues to issue warnings to investors for years. A spokesperson for the “watchdog” – unofficial nickname of the institution – details the modus operandi new scammers:
“These websites advertise using the image of celebrities and post these ads on social networks like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. When an investor clicks on an article or an advertisement, he is sent to a “mirror site”, that is to say a fake version of an official site such as the information site ABC News. »
Personally affected, an Australian celebrity decided to bang his fist on the table and bring the case to courts. The Australian millionaire accuses Meta of violate Australian laws by circulating fraudulent advertisements. This would be a breach of section 10 of the Commonwealth Criminal Code on money laundering. The Western Australia Magistrate’s Court foresees a first hearing next March 28. It will be followed by a hearing of the accused in 2022.
But the problems don’t stop there for Meta! Forrest’s lawyers also filed a complaint civil before California Superior Court. The case is under investigation and no hearing date has been announced. The Facebook Users Association in Australia supports Forrest’s move and explains why:
“Andrew Forrest is an icon to millions of Australians and many hold him in high esteem. Everything about him could seem legitimate to the general public, especially if it is officially broadcast on Facebook.
It is for the same reasons as Waleed Aly, famous writer, lawyer and academic from Melbourne has also joined the accuser’s bench. He joins a collective action led by ASIC which also concerns movie stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kindman.

Other than Bitcoin slowly breaking above $40,000 for the first time since November, the biggest story this week has been the $324 million hack on crypto platform Wormhole, which the company confirmed on Wednesday. In an interesting turn of events, a company called Jump Crypto stepped in the next day and refunded the money to Wormhole – but no word from the hackers yet. In other news, GameStop announced a partnership with a blockchain startup on Thursday and confirmed plans to create an NFT marketplace. Here are a few other stories that caught our attention this week.
“Trust yourself, not celebrities,” says NBA player Jimmy Butler in new Binance ad campaign

The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange has teamed up with NBA player Jimmy Butler for a new ad campaign with a deceptively simple message: “Trust yourself, not celebrities.” Binance’s campaign is somewhat ironic – Jimmy Butler is a five-time NBA All-Star – and it comes as celebrity influencers are increasingly criticized for promoting cryptocurrency and NFTs to their audiences . A lawsuit alleging a pump and dump scheme was recently filed against Kim Kardashian, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and others by a group that purchased a celebrity-promoted cryptocurrency.
Nevertheless, fame and cryptocurrency remain intertwined. Crypto.com and FTX, two major cryptocurrency exchanges that compete with Binance, have both bought ad time on this year’s Super Bowl, which is less than two weeks away. Crypto.com recently released an ad campaign featuring Matt Damon.
Picasso’s estate disagrees with NFTs of his art

A few weeks ago, Pablo Picasso’s granddaughter, Marina Picasso, and her son, Florian Picasso, presented a ceramic bowl that they claimed was a work of art created by Pablo Picasso. The mother and son told The Associated Press that they plan to make NFTs to sell online. However, a lawyer representing the Picasso administration, which is run by Picasso’s three children and two grandchildren and manages the late painter’s estate and intellectual property, said no authorized Picasso NFTs were on the way. The commercial director of Marina Picasso and Florian Picasso then noted that the NFTs offered for sale are based on the work of Florian – and not Pablo – Picasso. So if you find a Guernica NFT online, feel free to save the JPEG – but don’t buy it.
Anonymous internet group wants to do mad scientist stuff with mice

BitMouseDAO is an online group raising funds for an extremely 2022 project: Integrating the code of a bitcoin into the DNA of a mouse. Let’s back up for a moment. DAO is an acronym for Decentralized Autonomous Organization, basically a collective of crypto-savvy people online who use digital tokens to vote on what they do as a group. A spokesperson for BitMouseDAO, who declined to identify themselves, told Motherboard that “BitMouseDAO is an art project that connects the crypto world to the art world as well as the biological realm through the idea bold to put bitcoin in [a] Mouse.”
The group appears to have nine investors and a few thousand dollars in funding ether. BitMouseDAO claims that its art project is inspired by the work of Eduardo Kac, an artist who combined the DNA of a rabbit and a jellyfish to create a fluorescent bunny that glowed green in 2000. Perhaps to avoid any confusion, the BitMouseDAO spokesperson told Motherboard: “We are exploring consensus on the value of crypto and our vision for the future of the technology. We are not making a biochemical monster.”

And Enola Holmes was initially supposed to make a career in the cinema, the global health crisis decided otherwise and the little sister of Sherlock Holmes finally conducted her first investigation on Netflix after the streaming giant haggled over the distribution rights with Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. A boon for the platform and its franchise ambitions – the film being adapted from a six-volume literary series – and probably for the film, which has surely gained in visibility. Enola Holmes was well received on the platform and so the plans for a sequel seemed obvious, even if Netflix dragged out its officialization for almost a year.
Netflix has not missed its target audience
Enola Holmes 2 ended up being announced last May, still starring Millie Bobby Brown as the witty and energetic little sister of Sherlock Holmes who will once again be played by Henry Cavill. Last January, it was announced that the filming of this second part was finished, while Netflix recently unveiled a trailer for its 2022 line-up including the first images of the sequel. At the same time, the platform unveiled its official synopsis:
“Now a detective for her infamous brother, Enola Holmes embarks on her first official investigation to find a missing young girl, as the sparks of a dangerous conspiracy ignite a mystery that requires the help of friends – and Sherlock himself – to be elucidated.”

After being upstaged by his little sister, the best detective in the world (behind Batman) could therefore have a more important place in the plot which seems to follow that of the literary saga of writer Nancy Springer by adapting the second book, The Lady Alistair Affair, in which it is also a question of finding a missing young girl.
In addition to the return of Helena Bonham Carter as Eudonia Holmes and Louis Partridge as Lord Tewkesbury, the cast will also include two newcomers: David Thewlis (Harry Potter, Wonder Woman) and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Rogue One : A Star Wars Story, Dune). For their part, Jack Thorne will resume his place as screenwriter, while director Harry Bradbeer will return behind the camera.
