The abuse of imaginative capital gains in Italian football does not only concern Juve: it has been quite common in recent years and other clubs are now shaking. But certainly the numbers contested by the Juventus club are enormous: 282 million in three years

I collapse Juve. There are dates to be circled because they are mythical and others to be barred because they are very black. On the day in which Juve, understood as a club, dominates the news for the investigation of the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office on the capital gains that sees the top management investigated, starting with president Agnelli, the team collapses for the third time at home with Atalanta . A defeat that eliminates the hopes of a championship comeback, pushes Juve away from the Champions League and ends a nightmare week after the four slaps taken by Chelsea. Murphy’s old sarcastic law, most often remembered by losers, does not spare even the most powerful club in Italy: “If something can go wrong, it will”. But this time bad luck has nothing to do with it.

If Pirlo had still been on the Juventus bench, he probably would have already jumped, but Max Allegri’s onerous long-term contract prevents even just the scenario, but does not avoid trials. And if today they will have less space than expected in newspapers and websites it is only because there is an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office that makes more noise even than the defeats on the field.

By dint of pulling it for three years in an exasperated way, in the end the black and white rope broke. The word “capital gain” in football has ancient roots, it became a term of frequent use at the turn of 2000, at the time of football “which had to come out of pharmacies and financial offices” of Zemanian memory. Unscrupulous entrepreneurs and financiers, in the seven sisters’ championship, exchanged players like stickers, overvaluing them to bring back disastrous balance sheets that were drugged with phony trades. The personal destiny of some entrepreneurs passed through their own prisons, their failed companies, their consumers defrauded. Intertwining and ties of power, with the Palace, politics, banks, one in particular. Dark period of our football, with many champions and as many controversies in much discussed leagues, on the eve of Calciopoli.

About 20 years have passed: the capital gains to settle the balance sheets have remained. There is nothing wrong with them when they are real. The problem, indeed the crime, is revealed when they are fake. When clubs exchange unknown young people for virtual tens of millions or presumed champions in crisis with out-of-market figures. When through these reckless budget tricks you try to bring back the skipped accounts even for a monstrous purchase that is not in line with your possibilities and the consequent amount of salaries increasingly over budget. A heavy picture made even more unsustainable by the economic crisis caused by Covid. The abuse of imaginative capital gains in Italian football does not only concern Juve: it has been quite common in recent years and other clubs are now shaking. But certainly the numbers contested by the Juventus club are enormous: 282 million in three years. Could Juve have entered the championship without these capital gains? A central question to determine what the club would risk if the allegations were proven.

Juventus is not even the only top club that can be defined, euphemistically, a “flooded car”. There are others in Europe that are even worse off. But in Italy we are acting and controlling, the same diligence does not appear abroad. The unsuccessful attempt to create a Super League stems from the needs of clubs in debt and in serious economic crisis, certainly poorly managed. Strict international rules are needed to be enforced. Having turned a blind eye, often both, in the last difficult years of Covid is no longer an acceptable practice, because it drugs the football system and fake tournaments and cups. Having healthy societies cannot be optional. The risk-all operations, the all-ins to participate in the table of the greats, must be stopped. Because, having failed those attempts, one finds oneself with the need for reckless financial operations to make ends meet.

From the Superlega issue to the farewell to the Eca presidency, from the Suarez case to the investigation on capital gains. And the results on the field that are hiding. Many in the Juve world whisper that the era of Andrea Agnelli, architect of a memorable cycle of victories, is now running out. Like the career of Vice President Pavel Nedved, in the last period a source of more than one embarrassment. We will see. The investigation will not be short. How long the road seems to be to bring the team back to the top.

In view of Christmas, whether you want to give a gift to a friend or yourself, here are the best choices to spread happiness through gaming.

So many great games have come out this year, and more will be out in the coming months, so you have a wide choice for an emergency last minute gift – even for those gamers who have not yet managed to bring home a PS5 or an Xbox Series X. With the holiday season approaching, the Black Friday 2021 discounts they are even more greedy if you have some gamer friends to whom you don’t know what to give. If you are in such a situation, no matter which platform they play on, here are some suggestions to please even the most refined palates among your knowledge.

Just Dance 2022 | PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch —

It’s probably not the gift your hardcore gamer friend will expect, and that probably makes it even more suitable! With a video game like Just Dance 2022, you can secure a hilarious evening, or evenings, with your friend and group of friends with whom you never know what to do other than the hilarious Christmas games. You all know the songs, the dance steps… a little less, and that’s what will make the difference.

Guardians of the Galaxy | PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch —

Even without Chris Pratt, Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians have the ability to be incredibly hilarious (as we told you, after all, in our Guardians of the Galaxy review). Combining all of this with the triple-A production values expressed by Eidos Montreal, the development team behind the latest Deus Ex and Tomb Raider, fun is guaranteed. An easy choice if your friend has a passion for Marvel, especially at the price it is available at on Black Friday despite being released a few weeks ago.

It Takes Two | PlayStation, Xbox, PC —

If you have a very close friend or your half is passionate about video games, you must try It Takes Two. The game is available in full ed exclusively in co-op, which allows you to collaborate with a partner both online and in your own room. The story is about a couple on the verge of divorce who will be forced, for the sake of their child, to recover a relationship by now logo. It all transforms, through well-thought-out metaphors and lots of creative mini-games, into an excellent experience worth having with someone you love.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart | PS5 —

Ratchet & Clank has always been a fan favorite series, and the PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is treated by critics and audiences alike as the best release in the saga to date. Furthermore, it is one of the best PS5 exclusives: it even has ray tracing and a 40fps mode that takes advantage of the new 120 Hz televisions, for those who want to make the most of their technological paraphernalia for Christmas.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition | PlayStation, Xbox, PC —

Three of the most acclaimed video games ever in a single package? It’s a tough enough offer to turn down, and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is the perfect choice, whether it’s your first time on the trilogy or your sixteenth. Cross the galaxy as the Commander Shepard together with her adorable crew is an unforgettable experience no matter how many times you’ve done it.

black friday

Deathloop | PS5, PC —

Deathloop is the perfect example of how much stuff can be done with just four levels. Colt wakes up on a mysterious island and quickly discovers that even if he dies, he is forced to return to the same place at the same time each time. All while a killer known as Julianna, who knows things Colt evidently doesn’t know, hunts him down. This adventure is engaging from start to finish and has a lot more to offer than meets the eye, especially if you or your friend are completists. At the price of Black Friday, then …

Monster Hunter Rise | Nintendo Switch, PC —

Monster Hunter Rise could easily be the best Nintendo Switch game not made by Nintendo. We shot it big, maybe, but it’s hard to find anything else at its level. Since launch, Monster Hunter Rise has gotten even bigger and better, with more monsters to catch and gear to build. With the Sunbreak expansion coming out next year, there has never been a better time to start playing. You can also start playing Monster Hunter Rise on PC in January, hence the idea of gift a Steam Card to set aside until then is not bad at all.

black friday

Metroid Dread | Nintendo Switch —

Despite the title, Metroid Dread isn’t that scary (and it’s already discounted for Black Friday, although it’s just launched). Yes, it has a few almost invincible foes to hunt you down, but it’s more thriller than horror. Metroid Dread is the fifth installment in the main Metroid 2D series, something fans have been waiting for for a decade. Against all odds, it’s also a great game. Dread has all the elements of the previous Metroids, plus a few new ones, and refines some historical edges. Furthermore, it is beautiful to see, whether you play it on a TV or on the OLED screen of the new Nintendo Switch model.

Pokémon Shining Diamond and Shining Pearl | Nintendo Switch –

Pokémon is back – again! This time, Game Freak has brought the fifth generation of Pokémon games back to life, which had made its Nintendo DS debut more than 15 years ago. Top-notch material for a remake and great timing, at a time when nostalgia for those times is stronger than ever. The new art style and new mechanics added to the game are exciting, which – if you add that the two titles just came out on November 19th – makes Diamond Shining and Pearl Shining great choices for a gift.

Pokemon

Halo Infinite | Xbox, PC —

Halo Infinite is another great game coming out in December after a very long wait and some significant postponements. As evidenced by the multiplayer beta now underway, it looks like it was worth it: Halo Infinite runs smoothly, has nice graphics, and loads of powerful weapons – which is always a good thing. big more. We will have to check how the campaign will be but we will find out very soon, on December 8th, just in time to end up in the shopping cart for Christmas.

Battlefield 2042 | PlayStation, Xbox, PC —

Battlefield 2042 is a game that many of us have already played thanks to the betas and, despite the complicated launch, the hours spent in those sessions were enough to grasp its enormous potential. 128 players per game on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC (64 players for previous generation consoles), dynamic weather, vehicles, explosions … Yes, it’s Battlefield to the nth degree, bigger and potentially better than ever. It is very difficult to fold and should be an essential purchase for any FPS lover in your life.

Battlefield 2042

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate | Xbox, PC, mobile —

If you want your gift to be much bigger than it looks, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership is the right choice, with a couple of very good Black Friday deals too. The subscription gives you access to games like It Takes Two, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 and 100+ other games on Xbox, PC and mobile consoles through streaming (need a good connection and a 5 GHz modem for a level experience). If more is better, then nothing is worth your money more than one abbonamento a Xbox Game Pass.

The Swiss were the first to rejoice in the match, opening the score in the 7th minute. Corin Rüttiman’s backhand attempt bounced from the back guard to Julia Suter, who scored easily at Jana Christian’s exposed goal. In the middle of the introductory third, the Czechs answered. Michaela Mlejnková has not yet beat Monika Schmidová with a backhand attempt, but Karolína Suchá prevailed from the finish and immediately celebrated the goal at her premiere start at the World Championships.

In the middle of the match, Christianová eliminated Rüttiman’s chance, then the Swiss defended themselves in the only weakening of the duel in the punishment of Chiara Gredigová and resisted the chance of Captain Eliška Krupnová. In the 39th minute, Michelle Wiki hit the left post and Isabelle Gerig hit the right. Mlejnková turned off the counterattack after Martina Řepková’s pass.

After 74 seconds of the third period, Rüttiman found Wiki with a long pass, which leveled with a quick shot. In 78 seconds, however, Rhyner’s selection led again and she took care of it with a shot through defender Florina Martiová Bačová.

The Swiss did not beat Christianová in an attempt to equalize, on the contrary, in the 52nd minute, after renumbering after Denisa Ratajová’s pass, Krupnová increased the lead to the exposed goal. Gerigová did not change the penalty shot at 53:24, on the contrary Vendula Beránková completed the result 29 seconds before the end of the penalty.

At the beginning of the home World Cup, the Swedish floorball players outclassed Slovakia with the Czech coach Michal Jedlička 22: 3. Moa Tschöpová contributed nine points per goal and eight assists to the cannonade, and Sofia Joelsson scored four goals and two passes. In the second Group B duel, Finland won a high 15-0 over Germany.

The issue of crossings, which regularly stirs up bilateral tensions, is a delicate one for the British Conservative government, which has made the fight against immigration its hobbyhorse in the wake of Brexit.

These tensions linked to migratory flows add to the general hardening of relations between France and the United Kingdom since Brexit. The two countries are arguing in particular over fishing rights in British waters, and Paris accuses London of having negotiated in secret with the United States and Australia a strategic partnership agreement which precipitated the cancellation of a mega-contract for the sale of French submarines in Canberra.

After the defeat with Sacramento, the yellow-violet management is considering a technical change, the only way to give a shock to a team that is making much less than expected. And there is already a candidate for his replacement

They were whispers, they are becoming something more: Frank Vogel’s bench would be in danger. Just 13 months after hitting the title in the bubble, the Lakers coach would be at risk of exemption, with his job becoming precarious after the defeat to the triple overtime with Sacramento, the last stage of a season in the chiaroscuro in which a group built to win the title finds itself, a month and a half into the season, with a record of 10 won and 11 lost and the label of disappointment stuck on it.

the situation

The Lakers are still optimistic in words. “We are on a winning streak from changing what people say about us,” said Anthony Davis confidently after his daring knockout with Sacramento. The reality is that the Lakers fail to engage. They returned from a series of 5 away games that in the hope of Vogel had to change the season: they lost 3 games, risked big in the two they won, the comeback in Detroit after the expulsion of LeBron and the success at home Pacers al extra with James dominant. The defeat with Sacramento definitely ignited a fire that was slowly lighting up. Vogel and the Lakers from the beginning of the season preach patience: the roster is practically all new (only LeBron, Davis and Talen Horton-Tucker confirmed compared to 2020-21), inserting a star like Russell Westbrook is complicated and injuries have certainly played a role in the very slow progress of the work. After 21 games, the moment of the regular season in which the first budgets are drawn, the Lakers are decidedly less strong than they should be: they have 10 wins and 11 losses.

pros and cons

The team is practically not modifiable with the exception of one piece: Vogel. For this reason the position of the coach is no longer as strong as it was in the past. The Lakers so far have only hinted at glimpses of what they could be, without ever being able to find continuity. The defense, which should be their strong point, is 29th out of 30 for points granted and is 20th for opponents points for every 100 possessions. The attack is 23 ° for efficiency. Vogel continues to manage the quintet in a fluid way, alternating the solution with DeAndre Jordan from the center and Anthony Davis from the big forward to that of the former monocle as the only long, flanked by LeBron (or by Carmelo Anthony, the most continuous of the Lakers since here when James was out). A solution that certainly did not help the team to find its own identity. As up to now, the inclusion of Russell Westbrook is working in flashes, never really seemed like a metronome for the team as in the plans at the beginning of the season. Or the leap in quality of Davis, who fails to be dominant and the number 1 star of the team as the Lakers would need. The yellow-purple continue to depend on LeBron, who just over a month after his 37th birthday continues to make a difference. Except that, contrary to what has happened so far in his career, his health is a question mark rather than a fixed point of the team. The Lakers would need a jolt, and the only way would be to give Vogel the welcome, sending an unequivocal message to the players. The management is held back by the central role that the coach in the fourth year in LA has in the management of the team: as in the year of the title, the Lakers function as a sort of quadrumvirate in which GM Rob Pelinka, Vogel, LeBron and Davis consult each other. and confront each other. The management obviously has the last word in management matters, as the coach makes the final decisions on what happens on the pitch. The other important factor is that all of LeBron’s teams, when new as the Lakers, had trouble early: the 2010-11 Heat started 9-8 and James was pushing for Pat Riley’s return to the bench in place of Eric. Spolestra; the 2014-15 Cavs were 19-20 before turning and running to the Finals. The turning point for these Lakers really looks like a winning streak away, but the situation at the moment is problematic and a change on the bench really seems the only way to give a shock.

the replacement

Vogel signed the renewal of his original contract in early August, which expires at the end of the season. However, the extension would be only one year, until 2023. He will continue to try to straighten the situation, starting with Sunday’s match against Detroit followed by a trip to Sacramento and two matches at the Staples Center against the Clippers and Celtics. If Vogel really were to jump, the internal solution would be the most likely and the number 1 candidate to take his place would be David Fizdale. The former Grizzlies and Knicks coach would also have LeBron’s blessing: Fizdale was Spoelstra’s deputy in James’ 4 years in Miami. The 47-year-old, 71-134 in career, replaced Jason Kidd as Vogel’s number 2 at the beginning of this season: it would be the solution already at home that would allow you to change things without changing them too much, bringing some new ideas but with the knowledge of who is already on the team. A little bit of that change that LeBron orchestrated at the Cavs in January 2016, the last time one of his coaches left during the running season: David Blatt jumped with Cleveland in first place in the East but many doubts about his value, giving the bench to deputy Tyronn Lue. LeBron liked him, it was said at the time. But he led the Cavs off the bench to a historic, sensational title. Will history repeat itself?

White was there in their 100th international match shortly before the break from a short distance and brought the EM hosts in 2022 their fifth win in their fifth game. For the striker it was her 45th goal in the English jersey, only record holder Kelly Smith still has one more goal in the account. The English women had already missed several top chances to take the lead before that. In the second half, too, the “Three Lionesses” were the superior team, but could no longer capitalize on it.

The Austrians, who in front of around 15,000 spectators in the Stadium of Light had been offensive before the break, were able to improve significantly after the break and even had a chance of a goal. Maria Plattner missed the best opportunity shortly after the restart. The 20-year-old Tyrolean, who was part of the game for the first time, failed after a nice counterattack against the English goalkeeper Mary Earps (53rd).

Plattner checks Earps

Maria Plattner equalized shortly after the break, but failed because of the highly reactive English goalkeeper Earps.

Successful English EM “dress rehearsal”

In the table of group D, the Englishwoman lead with five wins, a maximum of 15 points and a goal difference of 33: 0 in front of Austria and Northern Ireland, who hold ten points each. England also managed a successful “dress rehearsal” for the European Championship duel with Austria on July 6, 2022 in Manchester. There should be 75,000 spectators at Old Trafford Stadium at the tournament opening game.

The ÖFB selection hopes for the first sense of achievement in a direct duel. In seven games – five World Cup qualifiers, two test games (1:22 goals) – against the “Lionesses” there was nothing to be won so far. The World Cup qualification continues for the Austrians on Tuesday in Luxembourg (8 p.m. live on ORF Sport +). Northern Ireland received North Macedonia the day before. The British won the “first leg” on Saturday in Skopje 11-0.

Austria’s defense holds against it for a long time

ÖFB team boss Fuhrmann only made one change on Saturday compared to the 2-2 in Northern Ireland, Plattner was preferred to Marie-Therese Höbinger. As hoped, the guests started the game with a 4-3-3 formation on the offensive, which became a 4-5-1 on the defensive. Although the English made the game as expected, they had problems against the stable defensive ÖFB block. In the 16th minute I was also lucky. Laura Wienroither hit Beth Mead on the head with a slightly high foot during an attempt at clarification, but referee Katerina Monsul did not punish the offense.

Until the opening goal in the 39th minute, the home team remained dangerous only in the beginning, then the ball landed in the goal. Viginia Kirchberger was able to fend off a shot by Fran Kirby with her head first, but Kirby sharpened the ball again and White dusted off from two meters via direct tap. Zinsberger prevented a double strike and also shone with deals from Lauren Hemp (42nd) and a double chance from Kirby and White (45th).

Shortly before the break, White (No. 9) was congratulated on her 45th international goal

After the restart, the only phase in which there was an ÖFB hit was in the air with strong winds and sometimes snow flurries. Barbara Dunst tested Mary Earps with a long shot (50th), and three minutes later the Manchester City final woman needed a real brilliant save on a counterattack completed by Plattner. Otherwise, however, the second England goal was more in the air. Insel legionnaire Zinsberger was able to distinguish herself again in a duel with Mead (65th) and Rachel Daly (85th).
