    natural stone
  • Natural stone is a geographical list of stone used for decorative purposes in construction and monumental sculpture; currently or historically produced in various countries. In addition hardstone carving uses many types of gemstones.

  • Used to differentiate non-manufactured stone products such as limestone, travertine, marble, and granite from human-made "cultured stone" products. Natural stone products are suitable for both interior projects (such as fireplaces) and exterior projects (such as exterior cladding for houses).

  • (Natural Stones) There are several naturally occurring stones that look similar to turquoise. These include Howlite, a white rock with black or gray markings, and Magnite or Magnesite, a white mineral that forms in rough nodules looking faintly like the vegetable cauliflower.

  • A large rug, typically an oriental one

  • A floor or stair covering made from thick woven fabric, typically shaped to fit a particular room

  • A thick or soft expanse or layer of something

  • form a carpet-like cover (over)

  • rug: floor covering consisting of a piece of thick heavy fabric (usually with nap or pile)

  • cover completely, as if with a carpet; "flowers carpeted the meadows"

Get Ready for the Show

This was the first theater built at Taliesin West, one of the many homes built by Frank Lloyd Wright. Photo was taken standing at the lower end of the theater by the piano and looking up to the top of the room. There were chairs and small tables between the row of bench seats. Guest would dine here then be entertained by Mr. Wright playing his piano or watching a movie. The ceiling was extremely low and the walls were made of stone. To the right are angled walls with openings that allowed natural sunlight to enter this room. An amazing place to visit!!
