Beneath an old, and many times painted baggage cart, at the former railway station in Grimsby, Ontario, lies a pile of old toy excavation equipment. Now rusting they are there as "antiques" for sale.
I was intrigued by the contrasting blue/yellow colours (along with the rust) and the generally "crusty" textures. To emphasize the "crustiness", in GIMP I used the GECL tool "c2g" with a radius of 3 to create a new layer which was subsequently combined with the original image using "value". Some additional curves, as well as some sharpening were applied to further emphasize the textures. - JW
This toy store deals in vintage toys and has recently gained some exposure from its multiple appearances on the show "Pawn Stars." The pawn shop owners regularly consult the owner of Toy Shack when trying to find the value of old toys and collectables. I took a walk through the store and recognized a couple of toys I owned as a child. A very nostalgic experience, and probably even more so for people of an older generation that would recognize toys from earlier decades. Located downtown in Las Vegas near Fremont street.
