Rift Rift is the complete and full-featured MMO experience you’ve been waiting for! Adventure in the world of Telara as either a noble Guardian or techno-magical Defiant and enter a dynamic fantasy where 8 primal forces battle for control and the landscape is ever-changing. Build your own class using the Ascended Soul system and embark on challenging quests to take your RPG experience to new heights of achievement and excitement! Rift is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) for PC that challenges players to stop an ongoing invasion of their world by horrific creatures from other planes of existence, while simultaneously growing ever more powerful by doing so. These creatures appear at a variety of elemental rifts that erupt at the confluence of these planes. Using an extensive level of customization, which allows players to very nearly create their own character classes, players defeat enemies, seal rifts and draw power from them. Additional features include: standard quest gameplay as well as player vs. player action, two factions each containing multiple races and a dynamic world full of unpredictability. Create your own character class to fit you fighting style. View larger. Extensive guild support. View larger. Elemental rifts to battle and close. View larger. A wide range of creatures to conquer. View larger. Varied and expansive environments. View larger. Story Rift is set on Telara, a fantasy world which lies alarmingly close to a variety of other planes of existence In the final days of the Mathosian civil war, the Ward that protected Telara from planar convergence with these other worlds was severely weakened by a disaster known as the Shade. Since that time, rifts between Telara and other planes have been increasingly devastating the land, and old enemies in the form of monsters, held at bay by elemental prisons have begun actively clawing their way out. Telara's greatest enemy, the god Regulos, pounds against the outside of the Ward, seeking reentry into Telara to finish the job he once started. Meanwhile, Telara's own pantheon of gods has suddenly grown silent, and the world is descending into total chaos. The people of Telara are now convinced that the end of the world is at hand. In these desperate final days, two major factions have arisen to battle the coming apocalypse: the Guardians and the Defiant. Though each faction wants to save the world, their beliefs and methods differ, and they war upon each other as often as they do other enemies of Telara. Factions and Souls Rift contains two main factions, the Guardians and the Defiant. Within either of these factions players can choose from four character callings, Warrior, Cleric, Rogue, Mage. Further, within these players gain access to a variety of different character possibilities known as "souls" - each soul granting players access to a unique "Soul Tree," which contains all of the traits and abilities that a soul had mastered during its life. As your character levels up, you earn soul points that can be used to improve that tree's soul level, granting players access to even more powerful traits and abilities. As a player's character grows in power, so does his or her ability to take on, or "attune" souls. A maximum-level player will be able to attune up to three souls of their choosing each with their own attributes. Souls grow in power as they become more specialized, and have well-rounded abilities that make them great for both solo and group play. The result is the ability to create your own class for virtually any situation. Gameplay Although it can be played on its own, Rift like all MMORPGs is designed to be played with others online. Players assume the role of an "Ascended Soul" - a Telaran slain during the great Shade War and resurrected to combat the forces of Regulos, the dragon god of extinction. Once a character's calling and initial soul(s) are selected players can take on quests alone or join together in loose confederations or more organized guilds to seek to defeat creatures that are spawned from rifts dynamically. Close the openings, and gain rewards to progress and level up. Rewards are given for all sorts of actions, including attacks, healing and more. Of course different guilds will also seek to undermine each other as well, leading to substantial player vs. player combat opportunities. Thanks, Ibrahim! beach camera special offer codes Nintendo pioneered handheld entertainment in the '80s and famously made it fully mobile and accessible to millions around the world with the Game Boy and DS video game systems. Now, Nintendo is taking things to the next level by transforming the way people access, experience, create and share content with the new Nintendo DSi system, the third iteration of the world's best-selling portable video game system. View larger. The DSi external camera in action. View larger. View larger. The System The Nintendo DSi is a high-powered handheld video game system in a sleek, folding design-loaded with features designed to create a unique gaming experience. Like the DS and DS Lite before it, the DSi features Nintendo's trademark stylus-driven touchscreen technology, but determined to make portable gaming simultaneously larger and smaller in all the right places, Nintendo has also created the DSi with significantly larger screens and an even slimmer body design than its earlier cousins. Other features include the ability to snap photos with built-in cameras, edit and send them to friends, play back your music with Nintendo DSi Sound, or browse the Internet with the Nintendo DSi Browser. From playing games to just playing around, the Nintendo DSi does it all. Features: The DSi's Two Digital Cameras The most noticeable feature of the slim Nintendo DSi system are its two cameras - one camera is situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system, the DSi Cameras feature 10 different interactive "lenses" that can manipulate your photos, offering an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to interact with their games, and in the process provide developers with a new tool to devise creative games and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras give Nintendo DSi the sense of sight. DSi Sound Another enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut. The DSiWare In the world of software, Nintendo DSi will be the platform for the most relevant and fun on-the-go games and applications. The Nintendo DSiWare application will populate Nintendo DSi with software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi Points directly to the portable system, just as WiiWare has with Nintendo's Wii console. Developers big and small are invited to create software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare games and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points. Games and Backwards Compatibility In addition to downloadable games, Nintendo DSi is able to play games made specifically for the system and sold at retail. The system can also play most Nintendo DS games, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system. As an example of the quality of games that DSi players can expect to see both from both Nintendo and third-party game developers, at the launch of the DSi Nintendo also released Rhythm Heaven. A wildly popular rhythm game in Japan, where it has sold nearly 2 million copies since its release in mid 2008, Rhythm Heaven features catchy tunes, charming characters, and a wide variety of rhythm games as it makes maximum use of the DSi's functionality. Nintendo DSi owners have even more ways to share their experiences with friends and family. Using an Internet-connected Nintendo DSi system and the Nintendo DSi Camera application, Facebook members can take pictures with either of the system's two cameras and upload their photos directly to their Facebook profile. While reviewing pictures they've stored in the Nintendo DSi Camera album, which includes photos taken by users and manipulated using the built-in interactive lenses, users can simply tap the Facebook icon on the system's touch screen to instantly transmit photos to the user's Facebook profile. The user's system must be configured to a wireless broadband Internet connection for the transmission of photos. What's in the Box Each DSi comes complete with: one Nintendo DSi System, one Nintendo DSi stylus, one Nintendo DSi AC power adapter, an easy start guide, manuals (basic and controls) and a support booklet. Designed for audiophiles, this speaker is engineered with PureDigital technology and a curved profile to provide tight, precise sound. Unlock additional features using the complementary Fidelio app, which gives you access to custom alarms, equalizer settings, and more. Fidelio DS8500 Docking Speaker: Obsessed with Sound PureDigital sound processing technology offers audio clarity and balance Precisely tuned bass pipes provide deep, tight bass reproduction Midrange driver volume matches acoustic requirements for strong, rich bass Shielding technology blocks mobile phone interference Curved back reduces internal resonance for precise, natural audio reproduction PureDigital Processing for Unsurpassed Fidelity Unlike traditional iPod docks, the DS8500 processes sound digitally. The result is far clearer audio performance. Using PureDigital, the DS8500 collects the digital output of your iPod or iPhone and processes it at each stage of the circuit, resulting in a much higher signal-to-noise ratio. This allows the speaker to reproduce the audio files on your mobile device with greater clarity and fidelity. The DS8500 Docking Speaker delivers stunning sound quality and style. View larger. Optimized Drivers Add Precision If a speaker's drivers aren't optimized to match its acoustic requirements, it will produce distorted sound. Fortunately, the DS8500's drivers have been fine-tuned to provide clear performance at all frequencies. High tones are precise and distinct, while low tones come out deep and tight. Bass reproduction is particularly rich: the mid- and low-range drivers have been specially engineered to create crisp, penetrating sound reproduction. Curved Design Creates an Ideal Acoustic Environment Chic and elegant, the DS8500's curved design is not only an eye catcher--it's also an effective structure for acoustics. The concave architecture of the speaker creates an ideal acoustic environment for your music: it dramatically reduces distortion and resonance, resulting in more precise and natural sound. Proximity Sensor and Remote Control for Convenient Operation The speaker also features an intuitive backlit control panel, which is activated using a proximity sensor. When your hand moves close to the speaker, the display illuminates and allows you to operate it. Walk away and the light dims to allot more power to music playback. For added convenience, an easy-to-use remote control is included. Free Fidelio App Unlocks Additional Features If you own an iPod touch or iPhone you can unlock even more features for your docking speaker using the complementary Fidelio app. The Philips Fidelio app lets you control your speaker dock's acoustic properties, access 7000+ free internet radio stations, share music you are listening to with friends via facebook and twitter, set alarms to wake to your favorite music, photo or weather conditions and much more using your iPhone or iPod touch. END (12) Women's Semi Final, Australian Open 1992 Every January when the Australian Open Tennis is on, I fondly remember back to 1992 when, working for XPress Group, I was lucky enough to be handed a Press Pass and a Nikon F2 camera fitted with a new Kodak DCS-1 back. The camera, in turn, was connected to a 'luggable' hard disk with (B+W CRT!) preview function that stored, from memory, about 120 images at 2048px along the longest edge. The hard disk could also accept a keyboard and voiceband modem that allowed images to be sent to news photo repositories and syndicated worldwide within ... well, within an hour or so! It was amazing technology for the time - bear in mind that the Mosaic browser wasn't released for another 15 months! If you look at this photo, you'll see some pretty massive compression artefacts as well as a wild colour balance issue (that purple is supposed to be royal blue!), but the product was aimed at the fast turnaround press environment (believe me, you couldn't afford this kit at home!), and given the low resolutions involved and the fact that no newspapers were printed in colour, these technical issues were not big obstacles. My task was to get the 'real' press photographers interested in it and teach them how to use it if they were interested. It was a great tool, probably the biggest issue was the shutter delay. You really had to fire in anticipation - about half a second ahead, otherwise you missed your moment. In the end, a photo I took of Jim Courier holding aloft the cup was posted on the 'wire' and was picked up by the Canberra Times, appearing on the back page the next day - the first digital photograph to appear in any Australian Newspaper. My highilight, though, was Monica Seles - one of the most fiercely determined women I've ever seen. Great fun. Deja vu A year on, and the same horse is still there. I saw this scene on the way to work this morning, previsualised what I would shoot, and went home at lunch to grab my camera. Philips SPC900nc and DMK21AU04.AS Camera Comparison I've been using a Philips SPC900nc webcam for the better part of a year to do my lunar and planetary imaging with and decided to upgrade to a DMK21AU04.AS (Monochrome). Here is a controlled comparison between the two cameras. This test was done indoors with controlled lighting where I targeted a dim object at 25fps which is a typical planetary situation with my f10 scope and a 2.5x barlow. My assesment is that for ~$50 the SPC is a great place to start and to develop your skills. However, the DMK is clearly in a different class than the webcam. You can run it at any framrate/exposure with spectacular image quality (no hot pixels, no banding, very sharp resolution, with no muddled areas like webcams produce). Also dropped frames just don't happen - at any framerate/exposure! The SPC would drop about 5% of frames at 25fps and at other framerates it would drasticly increase to around 10% to 25%! **edit: turns out that when the frame rate drops below 1/25th of a sec, the SPC sends blank frames so it can continue to send 25fps to the computer even though only say, 10 frames per second are being recorded - thus it's doing exactly what your asking it to, but it appears as if it's dropping frames** Also, the SPC has terrible banding at all framerates which requires constant darkframes to be taken and used in processing. With the DMK, Noise is greatly reduced from that experienced with the SPC and more importantly, it's perfectly uniform across the image which makes darkframe subtraction, for the most part, unnecessary. I found the SPC limited my range of exposures and thus made it virtually impossible to get a good contasted image. This is very important for obtaining focused, sharp images with good detail. The DMK will definately allow me to get the right exposure w/o having to comprimise the image quality. **Added**: I have started to use both cameras together to obtain LRGB planetary images which has worked quite nicely! I also found that using 5fps or 10fps with the SPC makes for uncompressed frames (higher quality) where-as using 25fps gives me compressed frames which resulted in the "muddled" appearance mentioned above. Another added benifet of using the 2 cameras together (over 4 color filtered images combined - true LRGB - is that you can get nearly the same information in 1/2 the time which is very important with the fast ration of Jupiter and Saturn. Oh - and the $50 SPC is much cheaper than $250 for even a cheap RGB filter set and manual filter wheel! This makes a pretty good combination! Being Lazy On Techincal Quality - Sunset Terra Nova N5590e This was the sunset on Saturday when super moon was coming. As most of the people went to see and shoot the super moon, I was wandering in Terra Nova watching the sunset. I forgot to bring my ND filter and so my Nikon was struggling to capture the high contrast in the scene. I am always lazy and careless in making sure of high technical quality in the pictures. I don’t think much details in highlight and shadow are recorded and this is of course a flawed image. Many photographers including amateur and professional care a lot about technical quality in pictures. I always give myself the excuse and argument to escape from this. When you put a lot of effort in getting the best technical quality, you may be putting less effort in aesthetic quality at the same time. With the advance of technology, the technical quality in the pictures will be surpassed in 10 or 20 years the most. But the great aesthetic beauty in Atget’s Paris pictures or works by Henri Cartier-Bresson will last 100 years or 1,000 years even when the modern cameras and lenses can produce better quality than the ones used by Atget or Bresson. So I remain lazy in learning the high dynamic range in Photoshop and all the sophisticated techniques in digital world. I am still shooting JPEG and using cheap glasses. I am not interested to analyze the test results of all the gears and optics. I wonder if Van Gogh will bother to choose the brushes and paint before he draws the sunflowers and self portraits. Happy Monday and great week ahead! say cheese... (a question for you, any suggestions appreciated...) With the toy camera made by her dad from a card of Nikon advertisement in a magazine promoting D40, saying how people satisfied with great pictures after they handed off D40's to a small town in midwest or somewhere... something like that... Considering to have my first DSLR at the moment... now pending decision for a Canon EOS 400D Rebel XTI or the coming 40D... Put budget aside, I think it is less a problem for now, as I might have been waiting for too long to get one... (Also Nikon D40x and D80 were considered, but I feel comfortable on Canon with my experience with their camcorders, and I found D40x body and kit lens are not made in Japan...) What DSLR camera body to get first, Rebel XTI or 40D, or others? I gave up my dad's film SLR long ago because I couldn't afford the films and printing in the school years, and I then turned to do more Hi8 and DV after tapes got cheaper before I switched back to take photos from my Canon Elura70/Elura80 camcorders and a used Nikon CoolPix 4300 given by in-law recently... On the glass side, I might start with a less expensive prime lens like Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II AF for indoor kid photos (heard that's light, is that plastic instead of glass?), any suggestions to a novice like me with scarce SLR experience? I hate the need to upgrade in the years down the road, and I am not a gear person (if I understand myself well...)... i have resorted to bringing my rollei AND my canon to work with me. or rather, i've started to. hardest question to answer - should i bring the rollei or canon? if i brought the rollei and not the canon, quite hard also, cause i cannot just live with a film camera. if i brought the canon and not the rollei, quite hard also, cause i wanna take street photography (my fav!) with film. so..bring both only!! :D a bit heavy la my bag, but its bearable :D i'm not that crazy to bring the lx2 and the holga and the lc-a+ along. i would if i could, but then i won't exactly be going to work, am i. the rollei, the canon, my keys, my wallet, cardholder, diary/notebook, pen, medicine and all other assorted junk fit ngam ngam into my handbag. am thinking of buying an even bigger handbag. not to keep my other cameras. really. on another note - i'm serious. i am on another personal challenge. no b&w shots for one week sorta challenge. take one shot on film camera a day! (at least for 2 weeks - too many and it'd be kinda expensive to maintain) See also: underwater camera housing mirror reversing camera dxo camera comparison go safe speed camera lumix camera troubleshooting canon digital camera solution disc pc web camera real digital life driver |

NIKON VS CANON DIGITAL CAMERA. FREE PC CAMERA DRIVER DOWNLOAD. Nikon Vs Canon Digital Camera
Lake Artemesia, College Park, Md. [Nikon D70 Tamron 28-300VC 1/15s F6.7 42mm effective -0.5eV ISO400 > dcraw -H0 -w -W -o 1 -q3 -T > Gimp] looked better without a GND Now I have to admit that I could take this just as easily with a G9. Which is the problem that I have always had with subframes. And I'm going to say this once: the comments below refer to RAW SHOOTING. True raw, not "ACR raw not Sony raw", but real raw with noise and fine-detail unaffected by NR. If you put NR into the mix, all bets are off. Then IQ depends greatly on the quality of the NR used. Subframes are just not clean enough to run away and hide from a good point & shoot shot raw unless it is super-bright (at ISO100 F8 vs ISO80 F4) or very dark (ISO400-800 F3.6 vs ISO200-400 F2.8), because the larger sensor an mirror push up the required diameter for a lens, and to keep lenses at decent diameters the lens mfgs compromise on IQ, requiring a higher F# to compensate in terms of sharpness across the frame. And in any case DOF suffers from the larger sensor. Subframes aren't really any more than 2 stops cleaner than a good point & shoot (talking about raw data of course), so you have to make the most of that 2-stop advantage to justify carrying a DSLR in the first place. If you're not into sport-shooting and don't need a high FPS, that means not shooting F8+ in low-light conditions and compensating by raising ISO. Taking this shot at F8 ISO800 would give me the same SNR as a G9 at ISO80. The color-sensitivity would be another issue, but in any case the G9 is a true 10-bit camera and the D70 is a true 12-bit camera so the D70 would still have better color-sensitivity but just barely at such a high ISO. In fact I'd have to check DxOMark to be sure of that. But they'd be close. Second, obviously the G9 is 12MP vs the 6MP D70. The lack of restraint with the middle-range point & shoots creeping up to 16MP now puts pressure on DSLR mfgs to push on past the diffraction-limit of F8 for a 12MP subframe...and leaves space for the high-end point & shoots to sit at 10MP and claim they are doing it "to maximize IQ". Consumers then have their choice of pretentious options: a 12MP+ point & shoot with a lot of NR, a 10-12MP p&s (or 4/3rds camera) that shoots raw, or a 12MP+ subframe that can shoot either raw or jpeg. Point & shoots are far less than optimum cameras, yet produce images that subframe DSLRs have a hard time really beating in a significant way. There's a lot of overlap where one can get a shot that is effectively just as clean and as far as you can tell at full-image just as detailed but the shot is much easier and cheaper to take with a smaller, lighter cheaper pocket-sized camera. Yet featurewise even a good old subframe like the D70 that sells cheap on eBay (certainly less than a G9-G12) can't compete with the newer point & shoots in the minds of some feature-oriented enthusiasts. And notice how these new point & shoots are shipping with 24mm effective wide-angles now, F2.0-F3.0 lenses now. 12-16MP, now. 1080p, now. CMOS sensors with backside illumination, now. It will always be easier and cheaper to put the same equivalent focal-length on a small-sensor camera. If Panasonic cannot beat Nikon, Sony, Pentax and Canon on price or price-performance making subframe lenses, they can just create a new market (micro-4/3rds) and make smaller cheaper lenses and steal the lower and middle parts of the subframe market. And they are doing just that. A 4/3rds camera and an equivalent superzoom will always be easier to carry than a subframe DSLR and a matching equivalent superzoom. The main problem is that there is only so much IQ that they can provide. But if a DSLR can't provide a lot more IQ, then the p&s wins simply because it's so much easier to carry. Even if they cost the same. Buying a VR lens to improve IQ means carrying a much-heavier and more-expensive camera & lens just to do that. It almost defeats the purpose. When I inevitably buy an SX130 and get raw shots out of it, even camera jpegs, this will be one of the first shots that I take with it. It has to be done. I took some shots at about the same time with ISO100 35mm color negative film, I doubt that they will look this good. And that would be even slower. You end up needing a fullframe to really "beat" a good p&s, which is a big disadvantage in cost, size & weight, plus shooting at F8+ vs F2.8+, with tripods and other rests all around...it really does come down to color & noise at the lowest ISOs. A DSLR *has* to be be significantly better in terms of color, noise and lens-reach otherwise it's not worth the trouble to carry over a p&s. That's what makes the Tamron 28-300, 17-35 and 19-35 so important. But the real issue is that you have to be serious about what you're doing and make a commitment to it, otherwise you might as well just be another "point & shooter". And I say the same reason that buying marge & josh. i really needed to upload something. my best friend got married a couple months ago, so this is really kinda late..... which therefore makes it very fitting to my style ...? ;) i actually uploaded this to my stream privately a couple weeks ago & then forgot about it.. whoops. i used a DIGITAL camera to shoot this.. and at that, a NIKON! crazy, huh?! jon had to help me a lot with figuring out the controls, not even gonna lie about it. do they purposely make canons and nikons controls backwards? when it comes to the whole canon vs nikon war, i really just don't care..they both take pictures, right? i mean, my main rig is a bronica.. shoooot. anyway, i need to get back onto this picture taking bandwagon now that my life finally isn't CRAZY (aka i think i'm done being lazy......) Laser Shield Anti Laser License Plate Cover The Laser Shield reduces the range of the police laser gun, providing you with the precious seconds that you need to slow down before he can get your speed. It is simply a fact, that radar detectors are of little use against police laser guns. The guns are so fast and the beam so narrow, that by the time your radar detector alerts you it is often already too late. The Laser Shield puts the odds back on your side. This ingenious product mounts over your license plate, which is what police operating laser guns are trained to aim for. It works by absorbing and diffusing the incoming laser beam, shortening the effective distance of the gun. Your radar detector should alert you as soon as the laser strikes your car, which could provide a few seconds to slow down before the officer can get your speed. The Laser Shield has been proven effective, and is a great value at this price. It is not as effective as a laser jammer, but it is much less expensive and could save you a ticket if you are in a state where police use laser. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A Display First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. 3D Content 3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. 3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI Cable To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. I want you to check out the sports pages of your local paper and capture an image from an event that shows action or emotion. Extra points to anyone who makes it to Beijing. Background This assignment was a disaster for me. No sport going on that I knew about and a couple of missed opportunities to go to a casual league ice hockey and baseball game had me trying for one on a canoe outing today. Well my battery went flat in the early part of the trip which turned out to be lucky because I stowed my camera in a waterproof bag. The bag proved worth its weight in gold when our canoe capsized and it fell right into the river! None of the contents got wet (my 70-300USM and my standard 18-55mm and camera body)! My wife (Anne) was not so lucky and neither was her brother. Her point and shoot (a birthday gift exactly a year ago today) and his new olympus SLR were fully submerged. We still don't know whether they will be ok... lots of condensation on the preview screens! So tonight we had a barbeque for her brother and nephew as their visit comes to an end - and an inevitable table tennis tournament. This is my son Matt serving at 16 each and this is my somewhat last minute submission for the assignment. (I didn't want to miss one even on a semi-disastrous day!) He didn't win this one.... Table tennis is an olympic sport so I figured this would pass. WIT I wanted to diffuse the flash and don't have any external flash so I used a paper napkin in front of the built-in lens. The flash was not bright enough so I ended up pushing it to compensate one stop more than it though it needed. I didn't want to bring the speed below 100 so that the ball would be relatively steady so I had to push the ISO up to 800. I did some selective level adjustment to bring down the brightness of the net in the foreground. I had to manually fix red-eye because Photoshop Elements was not fixing it automatically. To do this I used a paintbrush that was somewhat opague and then made sure to exclude the highlights form the painted area. I then used a levels layer to set the white balance with the eye-dropper on the white in his shirt. This made a dramatic change to the color, sharpness and light of the image. I liked it like this so left it. Off the top of my head, the shadows are the biggest problem - and would love to hear what people suggest for overcoming this with a built-in flash.
