Before I went out last night, I noticed how my hair was aparently every colour it possibly could be. Blonde, red, brown--all there. I remember it being a little like that since I was a teen, but it seemed especially prominent yesterday, which maybe the product of dyeing and hennaing over the years, or just some natural juju.

In other news, I moved my apartment around a ton this weekend, hence the slight disarray. I finally, more than 6 months after moving in, made the extra bedroom an office. It's proven to be a long-overdue thing to do, considering how much better my productivity is when I'm in a dedicated office with a real desk. I have a bunch of turquoise and black blik decals in there with an orange filing cabinet and one of my teal chromcraft chairs--it looks pretty ace. I also had a large grid bookcase dividing the dining and living room seen here, and I moved that to the dining room wall. It still doesn't feel perfect, but it's certainly better than dividing the spaces--I have no idea why I did that. It feels much more loftlike now. I've also picked up two Lucite chairs (<3 <3 <3) and a 1940s solid maple table, both from a ridiculously underpriced antique store from my hometown. I'll have to post some photos once I have the whole thing together. all in all, i'm very happy with how the place has been coming together--I moved from a 550 sq foot one bedroom with pretty much the bed, chaise, media cabinet and that's about it, and I've somehow furnished a two bed with dining room for, I think, around $1200. Quite the achievement for six high-quality "investment" vintage chairs, dining table, couch, office, and only one piece of IKEA.

made some good progress on the living room this weekend. i would love to drape those windows, but the porportion and placement of the windows is baffling, making me discouraged to take the physical challenge of doing so. Need to replace the mirror as the enormity of that wall requires something larger, but all in all, definitely starting to lurve it. I've been slowly figuring out my interior style (it's flip-flopped a lot over the past few years), but this hodgepodge that came together really feels like me, and I love being in this room now, despite that horrid southern yellow that i used to loathe (somehow worked with rather than against it). The dining room is looking pretty nice too, with the maple table and chromcraft chairs that work really well with the adjoining living room, and flowers in a milk jug.
