I mentioned in an earlier photo that the Gorilla enclosure was closed at Twycross zoo on May 6th as on May 3rd this little chap was born. As folks clambered to look through the windows at the front of the building hoping to catch a glimpse of the little one, I went to the Gent's restroom at the back of the building. As I came out all was quiet and the mother quietly came out the back and sat there looking at me for a few moments breast feeding her little 3 day old baby. It was just me and her but then as soon as other folks spotted she was out they suddenly all came rushing over. I managed to get this shot as the mum, still breast feeding her little one, decided to head back inside for some peace and quiet.

My nephews Connor and Ryan on their first day home from hospital Oct. 31, 2003. They just turned 4. They are my little punkins.

I lost the negatives to these and my sister had this one on her computer....so now i at least have this small file version of this one, which was my favorite.

they were born 6 weeks premature. Ryan weighed 4.5 and Connor was 5.5 pounds.

Felix,as most of you know,is my baby.
Or was.
Yesterday morning my mom went outside to open the garage door.
And when it opened,there was Felix,laying where it closed,with a dent in his stomach.
We called him,no response.
We soon realized he was dead.
The door had closed on him and he died instantly.
Our youngest cat,not even a year and a half old.
My baby boy,gone forever.
We buried him about 2 hours later.
I cried 6 hours after seeing him like that.
My baby was taken from me,and I didn't even get to say goodbye,tell him how much I loved him,nothing.
The last thing I said to him was,"night night Feely bear,I'll see you tomorrow!"
I thought that everything was going to be fine,I was wrong.
I hope he misses me as much as I miss him..

But,later in the day,when everything calmed down (except for the weather,its been wild lately.) we went down to the animal clinic.
And there they brought us 2 twins,a boy and a girl.
They reminded me of him so much.
They had the same face,acted just like him,and when I held them,it almost felt the same.
Now,of course,his void in my heart will always be there,there's no doubting that.
But,these two kitties,have really helped me through this.
They're names are Gootecks (boy) and Ash (girl),they're 3 months old.
When I get my new computer,my old pictures,videos,etc. will be moved (there were so many pictures of Feely..) and I'll take some pics of the twins,to show everyone.But until then,I'll be living a double life,one for me,and one for my lost baby.

A MOST TRAGIC TALE

He was 20, she was 16. They married on April 11th, his 20th birthday. In one year, exactly 365 days, on his 21st birthday and their first anniversary, both would die in a tragic automobile accident while en route to the hospital for the birth of their first child. Uncle Bobby died instantly, Anna Belle lived about 2 hours. The baby, a girl, was delivered by cesarean section. While "every bone" in Anna Belle's body was purportedly broken, their daughter, Bobby Anna Higgins, was alive and well. The tragedy was broadcast across the U.S. Prospective adoptive parents from all over vied for the newborn. An additional twist to their tragic legacy is that Anna Belle and Bob had been told she was carrying twins. Family tradition has it that the other baby, a boy, was stolen by the delivering physician, and that a "baby kidnapping ring" operated out of the hospital where Bobby Anna was born....

The only other photo I have ever seen of poor Anna Belle was the graphic newspaper photo that shows her dangling by one leg from the passenger side of their automobile (her leg was trapped). She never regained consciousness.

I was born 1 year and 4 days later. My name, which was to have been Barbara Ann, was replaced with the name Uncle Bobby had chosen for a girl: Carma.

Tomo Milicevic

Tomislav Milicevic aka Tomo ([?to?mo mi?lit?evit?]) (born September 3, 1979 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina)[2] is a Bosnian Croat - American musician. He is currently the lead guitarist of the alternative rock band 30 Seconds to Mars.

Tomo practiced to become a concert violinist from the ages of 3 to 19 years of age.[2] He started writing his own music by the age of 17.[2] After discovering heavy metal, Tomo told his father that he wanted to play the guitar, and so they made one together.[2] The guitar was used to record the song "A Modern Myth" on 30 Seconds to Mars's second album, A Beautiful Lie.

He says that the first concert he attended was Nirvana but he has since said in interviews that is "truthfully not true...I think it was Paula Abdul and Living Colour".[3]

After graduating from culinary school as an executive and pastry chef,[2] Tomo decided to sell all of his instruments and leave the music business. But then he was told about an audition for 30 Seconds to Mars by Shannon Leto. Being that Tomo was already a fan of the group, he decided to audition.[2][3] He was selected from 200 musicians not only for his talent, but also because he is kind and personable.[3] Five days later, on February 3, 2003, he played with Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Matt Wachter on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn.

The band released their third album This Is War, on December 4, 2009.[4]

Milicevic played for a time with a local band from Michigan, called Morphic.[5]

Seductive

When small, Sander Koetze, now better known as “Seductive”, could always be found at family parties hanging out with the band or DJ. What impressed him every time was the way the artists entertained the public. And if he got the chance to jam along, he’d do it without hesitation!

At 18 he started organizing urban parties together with friends. There was however one small problem – there was no DJ! This was his moment. Sander bought his first DJ set and started practicing night and day. The party was a massive hit! For the first time in his life, Seductive had done a six-hour set for 600 people who went completely insane the entire night. The adrenaline rush was too good to be true and Seductive wanted more!

After quite a few sold out urban events it was time for something different. House music started making its way into the club scene. Seductive had been to a party where DJ Chuckie was headlining. Chuckie was playing a whole new style and Seductive was impressed by this new sound.

That’s when he started doing house but in his own creative style he added a hint of urban. Turning tables however wasn’t enough for Seductive, he now also wanted to produce his own music. Elephant Sanctuary - Can I please have another banana

We had very unusual access to the elephants due to the relationship between our private tour guide and the sanctuary. We were allowed to go into the nursery. The babies had never had anything but mother's milk, so we were the first to feed them solid food. They are three months old.

In 1957, Hammer Films revived gothic horror – in abeyance in a decade that offered nuclear or cosmic horrors which made the classic monsters seem tame – with The Curse of Frankenstein, directed by Terence Fisher and starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. To hear him tell it, Jimmy Sangster, who has died aged 83, wrote the script because no one else would, and simply typed it out and turned it in.

Yet Sangster came up with a new story – owing as little to Mary Shelley's novel as to James Whale's earlier film – and a radical depiction of Frankenstein as a determined, charming yet corrupt dandy who could still chill in an era of nuclear proliferation. Sexually amoral (he uses his monster to murder the maid he has impregnated), rigidly dividing his life (making a bloody hash in the laboratory; prissily refined at the breakfast table) and intent on his "higher calling", this Victor Frankenstein was as ruthless, fascinating and yet remote as the social climber of Room at the Top or the early James Bond.

The same team – Sangster included – then created the even more successful Dracula (1958). Sensing a formula which worked, or in a hurry, Sangster reused the template of The Curse of Frankenstein: Cushing's visionary character is repeatedly thwarted by the ineptitude and small-mindedness of everyone around him, although here Cushing is Dr Van Helsing, and his goal is not the creation of Lee but his destruction, with Lee cast as an unprecedentedly active, virile Dracula

These two credits alone would establish Sangster as a major creator, though he often professed little interest in the gothic, and was more taken with putting together twist-driven thrillers such as Intent to Kill (1958), directed by Jack Cardiff. He wrote The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), The Mummy (1959), The Brides of Dracula (1960) and other Hammer gothics, but handed over his spec script Taste of Fear (1961) only on the condition that he be allowed to produce. As writer-producer, he specialised in psychological crime, most notably in the Oliver Reed melodrama Paranoiac (1963) and the Bette Davis vehicle The Nanny (1965).

When Hammer wanted to remake The Curse of Frankenstein, Sangster agreed to write it if he were also allowed to direct. The Horror of Frankenstein (1970) isn't a terribly good black comedy, and Sangster was similarly deprecating about Lust for a Vampire (1971), a troubled production he helmed when his old colleague Fisher was sidelined by a road accident. The suspense movie Fear in the Night (1972) is his best work as director.

He was born James Henry Kinmel Sangster in Kinmel Bay, north Wales. His estate agent father was persuaded to put in the town's name because he was supposedly the first baby born there. He was educated at Ewell Castle school, in Surrey, and entered the British film industry at 16 as a production assistant. After service with the RAF, he worked as a third assistant director on Ealing Studios productions (The Captive Heart, Pink String and Sealing Wax). He joined Exclusive Studios, which would become Hammer Films, in 1949, and worked as assistant director and production manager on many of the B-pictures the studio turned out before gaining success and prominence in horror.

His first script was for a short (A Man On the Beach, 1955) and his first feature script was X the Unknown (1956), a science-fiction film planned as an entry in Hammer's Quatermass series until Nigel Kneale refused permission to use the character. In the late 1950s and early 60s, other companies imitated Hammer. The producer-directors Robert Baker and Monty Berman hired Sangster to write historical horrors (Jack the Ripper, 1959), a science-fiction film (The Trollenberg Terror, 1958) and even the based-on-fact drama The Siege of Sidney Street (1960), in which Sangster appears in a non-speaking role as Winston Churchill, puffing a cigar and ducking bullets during the climactic siege.

Private I, his first novel, was published in 1967, and adapted as an American TV movie (The Spy Killer) in 1969. This led to more work in American TV, as story editor or scriptwriter on shows such as Banacek and Wonder Woman. He contributed supernatural scripts to Kolchak: The Night Stalker and the anthology show Ghost Story. Though retired from the late 80s, a shelved Sangster script was filmed in Germany as Flashback in 2000. His memoirs (Do You Want It Good Or Tuesday? was the characteristic title) were published in 1997.

In recent years, he recorded DVD commentaries in which he affected total surprise that anyone would be interested in his work. The screenwriter Peter Atkins describes him as "a very self-effacing writer who was better than he thought he was and who gave all of us, I think, moments of genuine pleasure with his work".

He was married to Monica, a hairdresser on the early Hammer films, from 1950 to 1968; they had a son, James. He is

While gardening today at J&L's I discovered a nest that had fallen from a tall tree last night. Nearby there was a dead baby bird. I pointed it out to J. and we both sighed sad sighs for the little one who didn't make it. One more eyeball scan across the grass and I spotted another nestmate - still alive but injured and not looking so great.

With no parents in sight anywhere and feeling some urgency about getting care for this one, I scooped it up and we created a little homemade nest out of paper towels and a tiny wicker basket. I picked up a small canister of baby bird food on the way home (a formula mix similar in consistency to human infants' mix-with-water stuff) and hand-fed it every half hour or so until I could locate a wildlife center (at our county Humane Society) who would know far better than I how to best care for the orphan. Little bird is there now, as is the baby bird food which they can use to feed it and others; no doubt they'll be far neater with the hand-feeding than was I.

I'm starting to see this mourning dove/bird pattern emerging in my daily life. I wonder what that's about.
