Silver Mirror Coating

(Mirror-coated) lenses are coated with a layer of reflective material that greatly reduces the amount of heat entering the eyes. However, these lenses reduce visual acuity and are somewhat like looking through a two-way mirror.


A special treatment applied to the front surface of each lens through a vacuum process that allows the lens to take on the properties of a two-way mirror. It reflects the harsh light rays that are emitted from surfaces such as water, snow, and ice.


A coating applied to the front surface of a lens to reduce light and for cosmetic reasons.  It can be applied in three densities; flash, solid, and gradient.  The wearer will not see a difference in color regardless of the color of the mirror coating.
