Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0
The Lamborghini Diablo was a high-performance mid-engined sports car built by Italian automaker Lamborghini between 1990 and 2001. It was the first Lamborghini capable of attaining a top speed in excess of 200 miles per hour (320 km/h). After the end of its production run in 2001, the Diablo was replaced by the Lamborghini Murcielago.
The car became known as the Diablo, carrying on Lamborghini's tradition of naming its cars after breeds of fighting bull. The Diablo was named after a ferocious bull raised by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century, famous for fighting an epic battle with 'El Chicorro' in Madrid on July 11, 1869.
After Audi AG took over Lamborghini from its former South East Asian owners in 1998, Mycom and VPower, they set out to modernize and refine the Diablo, while its replacement, the Murcielago, was developed. Audi tasked Luc Donckerwolcke with designing a more refined, more civilized, and more modern Diablo. The 6.0 VT was the result of that design. It featured heavy styling changes both inside and out; the front bumper now featured two large air intakes and the nose was flattened. It sat on large 18 inch monoblock alloy wheels reminiscent of the five hole dial wheels of the Countach. Significant changes were made to the interior too, the drivers seat was moved in line with the pedals, and climate control air conditioning was standard. There was a much larger use of carbon fibre too, to the point that only the doors and roof were metal. (alloy and steel respectively) Magnesium was used for the wheels, cylinder heads and inlet manifolds, and the con-rods were made from titanium. The centre console was one large piece of carbon fiber.
The 6.0 VT featured the new 6.0 litre V12, based on the motor that powered the Diablo GT (which in itself was essentially a modified version of the 5.7) The motor had updated ECU software in addition to new intake and exhaust systems and a refined variable valve timing system with slightly less aggressive camshafts than had been used in the earlier versions. With a power output of 550 BHP directly from the factory, the Diablo VT 6.0 was again to be considered a major competitor in the super car league, and Automobili Lamborghini SpA focused all their resources on this final Diablo model and the successor, all other models in the range were halted, no more Roadster or SV models were offered. The 6.0 VT had higher comfort levels, came with air conditioning as standard, the seats were much improved and the interior draped in glistening carbon fibre. The build quality was superior to any previous Diablo model. These improvements would make the 6.0 VT the most practical of all the Diablos.

Bowie for Graham....
This is what keeps me busy at times...this knive was forged from a billet that I made out of 440 layers of 15N20 (Band Saw Blade) and 1084 (Used to make bumper bars for old cars) with a tool steel core of O1 (Found in cutter blades on planes and chisles)
The handle was fashoned from the "Crown" of stag from a Sambar Elk...they cast off their racks each year, so I did not have to kill an animal to get this.
The spacers are brass, leather and knife makers paper.
The guard was re-cycled from a wagon wheel rim found in the Golden Triangle of Victoria...said to belong once to Major Mitchael...sure !
The engraving was all done with a Hammer and Chisel, and push graver...no power tool were used.
Now I can take a bit of time off and visit the Outback on Walkabout !
The picture was taken by my Sweetheart, Linda

Mitsubishi 3000gt
This was my Mitsubishi 3000gt vr4 twin turbo. I built this back when we had Street Freeks import shop in Glendora, CA. It was pretty much a one-off custom. In the 70's I worked on and crewed for a number of road race teams. Including Barr motors in New York, a BMW team and John Greenwood corvettes.
I tried to bring back those feelings of a Trans Am road race car that I could drive every day with a new generation of car. The only original body part was the hood. The rear fenders were widen 10" and the front 8". I made these huge billet wheel spacers to fill these huge fenders. I guess it's the old drag racer in me, but no matter how fast the import car, and there are some killer fast imports, they just will never have the sound, feel and plain macho muscle of an American v8. It was my last import.

I then spent 40 minutes hammering the crap out of the bearings. I blowtorched the assembly to try and encourage it to move. It was moving at a rate of a few more mm each time I looked.
I had to remove the damper to get better access.
It was hard work.

Since I sold the LMs and the RS stuff hasnt all arrived yet, I had nothing to roll on for this past weekend's show up in GA, Sowo. Randy let me borrow his CCWs classic for the weekend, and jesus does it look like a completely different car. Going from 19s to 17s is a huge change, and I had to dial in the air for it to sit that much lower. Got the car's front controll arms resting on the floor now. Lots of people at Sowo were digging it, and cant be any happier. I cant wait to finish up the RSs and get this bch back on the road. Its back in the garage with jack stands.

Robert Forrester's e-mail address is: bestplastersupplier@yahoo.com
The product name is Dynoplast HS (High Strength). The water use ratio is 26 - 28 parts water to 100 parts plaster. I found that at 27 parts water, I had the best results. Dry compressive strength of regular plaster without the nylon fiber is around 10,000 PSI. I'm guessing I lost up to 2,000 PSI of compressive strength by adding nylon fiber, but I gained a lot of tensile strength in the process.
STP84737
The reinforcement doesn't have to be perfectly true, but it needs to be close. The great thing about this wire structure is that it can easily be adjusted simply by pushing or pulling a side of the reinforcement.
The closer the casting pan is to true, the closer the resulting cast will be, and the less material that must be removed to true the head.

SS Impala
1961 Chevy Impala. The Impala was restyled on the existing GM B platform for 1961. The new body styling was more trim and boxy than the 1958-60 models. Sport Coupe models featured a "bubbleback" roofline syle for '61, and a unique model, the 2-door pillared sedan, was available for 1961 only. It was rarely ordered and a scarce collectible today. The rare Super Sport (SS) option debuted for 1961.
The 1962 model featured new "C" pillar styling for all models except the 4-door hardtop "Sport Sedan." Sport Coupe models now featured the "convertible roof" styling, shared with other GM "B" full-size hardtop coupes. This style proved extremely popular, and contributed to the desireability of the '62-'64 Impalas as collectibles. The "overhang" roof style of the sedans was replaced with a more attractive, wider "C" pillar with wraparound rear window. Engine choices for '62 settled down, the 348 V8 discontinued and replaced by the 340-bhp 409, which could be ordered with any transmission. The small-block 283 was enlarged to 327 cubic inches, which added more engine choices for small-block fans. The Beach Boys produced a hit single, "409," referring to the Chevy, which became an iconic song for these cars. Impalas again featured premium interior appointments, plusher seats, and more chrome trim outside, including a full-width aluminum-and-chrome panel to house the triple-unit taillight assembly. Super Sport (SS) models featured that panel in a special engine-turned aluminum, which was also used to fill the side moldings, making the SS more distinctive in appearance. Due to reliability problems, the optional Turboglide automatic transmission was dicontinued, leaving Powerglide the only autobox available until 1965.
Many consider the 1963 model to be the best in terms of styling, although it was mechanically identical to the '62 in most ways. Crisper styling, with pointy front and rear fenders, emphasized the longer, lower look which was so popular at that time. Impalas again featured a rear taillight panel which was aluminum surrounded by a chrome border, which had the engine-turned surface on SS models. Engine choices was similar to '62, which the small-block 283 and 327 V8s the most popular choices. The Sport Sedan featured a new, creased roofline that proved popular. A new "coved" instrument panel was good-looking, but replaced the temperature gauge with "idiot lights" for hot and cold engine conditions. An optional factory tachometer was built into the dash, just above the steering wheel. It was rarely ordered, but gave the Super Sport models an extra feel of sportiness.
For 1964, the Impala was slightly restyled, reverting to a more rounded, softer look. Out back, the signature taillight assembly had an "upside-down U" shaped aluminum trim strip above the taillights, but the lights themselves were surrounded by a body-colored panel. The 409 returned as the big-block option, but the 4X2 carburetor setup was no longer on the option list. SS models continued to feature the engine-turned aluminum trim. Rooflines were carried over from '63 unchanged.

The Ginowan Wheel Chair Marathon is the only one held in Okinawa in which handicapped people in all prefectures take part every year. It ran between Ginowan City and Chatan Town. The route ran on the road in front of our apartment. We gladly went outside and cheered on the participants.
This particular guy took a moment to enjoy the view, or maybe the breeze that was blowing off the water. Either way, it had to be refreshing.

MORGAN 4/4 SPORT - "CLUBS CHALLENGE" - 2009 - by Claudio Bardeggia-MOTORDESIGN
This is a computer graphic studio of a Morgan 4/4 racing-version for gentleman-drivers only, to rent and use in a special "Morgan Clubs" Challenge. All 4/4 sport (racing) cars have to be exactly alike (and to be drawn by lot every race) to focus the different gentleman-drivers ability. Final prize could be a new Morgan 3-Wheeler! (IMHO).

Day 284
Recently my company built a racing simulator to use as a promotional tool at conventions & tradeshows that we participate in. Well today I worked an insurance convention in Miami and got a chance to spend a little time behind the wheel of simulator racing the Homestead-Miami Speedway. I put down a 1:16.81 lap and I must say, I'm looking forward to setting up my own simulator at home one day. That is if I ever get to spend enough time there to enjoy it.
