While walking thru the town of Varel I spotted this Auto Shop with some kool bikes sittin' out front. The owner , Schmidt (if I remembered his name correctly) was really nice he even took me inside to see this old BMW he had restored.

These are the hot dog cart wheels I used, 600 lb load capacity. They're a bit wobbly, out of true, so I had to work on those skills for a while. They're way better now, but I may take them to a bike shop.

Cleckheaton is about 17 miles from where this photo was taken.

That paternoster with the coral red beads on my belt is the latest addition to the kit; the medieval ancestor of modern rosary beads that would have been worn as display of religious devotion by all classes in the middle ages.
I've been working on making "The Sword" for myself for years and I think this blade might be it. This is my "Excalibur".
Following the practice of knights naming their swords, I have decided to call it "Juvante" which is short for the Latin expression "Deo Juvante" meaning "God's help". Ideally swords were used by knights to defend the weak. If I ever wielded this blade with deadly intent it would be in defense of a loved one to be sure.
I love the look of this sword. The pommel, the guard, and the blade type are my favorites among the historic typologies. It is not based on a single existing piece, but there are a couple Oakeshott type XII examples from the thirteenth century that match this weapon very closely in dimensions and appearance.
Many may look at it and wonder what exactly makes this sword special or different from any other. It looks very simple, but that austere form is very beautiful and historically relevant. Any casual survey of historic medieval swords will show that they did not have the gawdy ornamentation seen in many modern "replicas". Swords were designed to be used as deadly weapons, not to look good on a wall.
This is the final form of an Albion Baron blade that I reground and rehilted, making a single-handed sword from a much larger hand-and-a-half. I've been tinkering with and making swords since I was a teenager so it's no big deal for me to dismantle and completely reshape a pre-existing one to suit my taste. I don't have the time or energy to make them completely from scratch like I used to.
The blade of this sword is 32.5 inches long, the grip is 4.5 inches long. Personally, I think these are ideal proportions for an arming sword. The steel guard and wheel pommel are wedged tightly on the tang and peened over the top. There are no welds or threading. The construction of this sword differs from a medieval original only in the epoxy and chromium-tanned leather that holds the wooden grip onto the tang.
It weighs 2 pounds 14 ounces overall, with a point of balance 4.75 inches from the guard, center of percussion about 21 inches from the guard. It is a sword that now feels lively, but with good blade presence.
Some experienced medieval reenactors were handling it at the above event and described it as a sword that "you could swing all day." That is a high compliment for any sword and the kind of sword a knight would want on his hip.
As for any magic in this sword; I had not holy relic to embed in the pommel, but there are three strands of my wife's dark hair sealed inside the wooden grip. The blessing of my lady love is magic enough for me.

Day 80 / 365 - Keep Pedaling
SAT 18th SEPT.
Horrible wet day but myself and a mate braved the elements to head down to the Milestone Session - a roadshow spectacular to celebrate urban culture and the forthcoming opening of the Bridges Urban Sports Park. Good day and was interesting to shoot the various bikers and skaters - nice challenge and learning experience. :)
Enjoyable evening spent watching a couple of horror films :)

Ed era tipo "che c'importa di domani?" , stringimi le mani, ma i baci non risolvono i problemi, e ora non ci sei, domani e gia arrivato, e brucia dentro sai anche se ero preparato, e cadono parole come pioggia sulla strada, forse verra domani il sole che le asciuga.

I decided to make my own. Then, I purchased 8183, so I made it remote controlled. It's a bit wide-even for me, but I had to make it that wide to use the R/C base.

Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital and launched to replace the 126 it was the first Fiat to be solely manufactured in the FSM plant, Tychy, Poland. Only available as a 3 door Hatchback.
The Abarth extras consisted of cosmetic changes only, a frontal apron with fitted fog lights, rear apron, side skirts and a rear spoiler with third brake light. There was also a set of 13 inch Speedline five spoke alloy wheels. Unlike true Abarth models there were no factory engine upgrades and the Abarth parts were added at the time of sale.

The Lake District, also commonly known as The Lakes or Lakeland, is a mountainous region in North West England. A popular holiday destination, it is famous not only for its lakes and its mountains (or fells) but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth and the other Lake Poets.
The majority of the area was designated as the Lake District National Park in 1951. It is the largest of the thirteen National Parks in England and Wales, and the second largest in the UK (after the Cairngorms). It lies entirely within the modern county of Cumbria, shared historically by the counties of Cumberland, Westmorland and Lancashire. All the land in England higher than three thousand feet above sea level lies within the National Park, including Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. It also contains the deepest and longest lakes in England.
The precise extent of the Lake District was not defined traditionally but is approximated by the boundary of the National Park, the total area of which is about 885 square miles (2,292 km2). The Park extends just over 32 miles (52 km) from east to west and nearly 40 miles (64 km) from north to south.
The Lake District is one of the most highly populated national parks. There are however only a handful of major settlements within this mountainous area - the towns of Keswick, Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere being the largest four. Significant towns immediately outwith the boundary of the national park include Kendal, Cockermouth, Penrith and Grange-over-Sands; each of these have important economic links with the area. Villages such as Coniston, Threlkeld, Pooley Bridge, Broughton-in-Furness, Grasmere, Newby Bridge, Staveley, Lindale, Gosforth and Hawkshead act as more local centres. The economies of almost all are intimately linked with tourism. Beyond these are a scatter of hamlets and innumerable isolated farmsteads, some of which are still tied to agriculture, others now function as part of the tourist economy.
The Lake District takes the form of a roughly circular upland massif deeply dissected by a broadly radial pattern of major valleys whose character is largely the product of repeated glaciations over the last 2 million years. Most of these valleys display the U-shape cross-section, characteristic of glacial origin and often contain elongate lakes occupying sizeable bedrock hollows often with tracts of relatively flat ground at their heads. Smaller lakes known as tarns occupy glacial cirques at higher elevations. It is the abundance of both which has led to the area becoming known as the Lake District.
The mountains of the Lake District are also known as the "Cumbrian Mountains", although this name is less frequently used than terms like "the Lake District" or "the Lakeland Fells". Many of the higher fells are rocky in character, whilst moorland predominates at lower altitude. Vegetation cover across better drained areas includes bracken and heather though much of the land is boggy, due to the high rainfall. Deciduous native woodland occurs on many steeper slopes below the tree line but with native oak supplemented by extensive conifer plantations in many areas, particularly Grisedale Forest in the generally lower southern part of the area.
