Punisher 6
Darth Fett at gunpoint asked me nicely if I wanted my brains on my PC's monitor or should I shoot toys again. I opted for the latter. Whew, scary guy.
I bought this factory reject Punisher (no Made In China stamp) without weapons. My other action figures' 6" weapons don't fit his hands so I'm on the look out for 1/12 scale US/European police/military projectile weapons. There are more 1/18 and 1/6 scale than 1/12 on ebay :(

Recently acquired 1/6 Scale Hot Toys U.S. Army Ranger 75th Regiment Action Figure.
Traded some of the toys from my collection just for this as I was madly taken by this particular action figure.
I now know why there is community of collectors acquiring 1/6 Scale Military figure. The details on these particular line are staggering, even in their miniaturized version!

Costumes from the Ballet Russe
Prior to having the new main gallery, exhibition space was at a premium and costumes could seldom be displayed, so much of the Museum’s costume collection has been in deep storage for years. In preparation for Art & Artifice: 75 Years of Design at San Francisco Ballet, the Museum began re-exploring a number of the costumes in its own collection. In the process, three costumes previously mislabeled as having come from San Francisco Ballet productions were correctly identified as actually belonging to the Ballet Russe.
The costumes all date from the 1937 production of Michel Fokine’s ballet Le Coq d’Or (The Golden Cockerel). From its premiere in 1914, the ballet was considered one of the greatest achievements of Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, particularly for its inspired sets and costumes designed by Natalia Goncharova. When Col. de Basil’s Ballet Russe remounted the ballet in 1937, the Golden Cockerel (formerly represented by an onstage prop and an offstage singing voice) was made into a dancing character, for which Fokine created new choreography and Goncharova designed a spectacular golden costume, executed by Karinska. Tatiana Riabouchinska danced the role to great acclaim around the world, including San Francisco.
One of two identical costumes for the Golden Cockerel worn by Riabouchinska is among the costumes rediscovered in MPD’s collection. The other two are beautifully painted and appliqued dresses worn by female attendants of King Dodon. All three of these costumes, newly conserved, are on display in the Art & Artifice exhibition. Goncharova’s designs were important points of departure for San Francisco Ballet’s own version of Le Coq d’Or, choreographed by Adolph Bolm and designed by Nicolas Remisoff. This rediscovery is a significant one, as very few museums in the United States have original Ballet Russe costumes in their collections. The Museum of Performance & Design also has four other documented Ballet Russe costumes in its collection, and more discoveries may lie ahead! ©2008 Museum of Performance & Design.

Little Big Denial :(
Oct 22 Ev and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary. We didn't have much planned aside from a simple, quiet evening together. Things were going exactly as planned, until The Little Big Planet quest began.
During dinner I made the mistake of mentioning how some friends of ours had managed to pick up copies of the 'recalled' version of Little Big Planet. I knew I was in trouble when my Ev's eyes instantly lit up, and she responded with a fury of questions. She wanted to know the when, the how and the where people were getting copies of the game. That evening set of a spiral of events that spanned three days, over a dozen stores, and countless disappointments.
After dinner, we drove from store to store, from Blockbuster to Blockbuster, FYE to FYE, and every single LBP chance-seller in-between. While many places we visited were more than happy to show us their copies of the game, not a single store was willing to sell us one. They gave a multitude of excuses, such as: "The game has a song about Jihad", "it is offensive to Koreans", "it has been discontinued", and lastly "its not been gotten has shipped to us...it's not out" (that one was mumbled by a Circuit City employee).
On Saturday when we learned that Gamestop was getting copies of LBP in we visited every location within a 15 mile radius. GameStops are spreading like a virus around here, because we didn't have to travel more than five minutes to get from one store to another. It was futile attempt however, as each store barraged us for not pre-ordering the game and had us walking out the door feeling like second class citizens.
At this point, I could handle the rejection no more, and pleaded with Ev to just call the quest off. The game would be out in a matter of days for non-pre-order-ers like ourselves, couldn't we please just let it go for now? She reluctantly agreed, but by then the disappointment had taken it's toll on our souls.
Now we sit patiently waiting for the game to ship through normal channels so we can get our LBP on. I knew before we even began our search that quests like these often end in disappointment, but Ev was naively full of optimism and eager to try.
My question to everyone today is, how many 'gaming quests' like this have you gone on? What was it for, and how did they end up?
Hopefully you guys had better luck with your quests than we did.

Today two of my friends and myself were part of the Street Science festival. There was a sneaker convention or whatever, and my friend was asked if he was interested in selling some of his sneaker collection. He decided to sell toys as well and he thought it would be cool to sell some of my stickers.
Just as I expected, I did not sell shit. A lot of people were interested, but there was only one guy who actually bought a pack.
Homeboy, if you’re reading this; thanks some much for your interest and support. It really means a lot to me ;)
We had great fun today, drank a lot of beer and I made a lot of kids happy with my stickers :)

So it's the last day of second trimester, which means that we were presenting final projects today. I challenged my kids to come up with a teaching tool to teach one human body system to a small kid, and create it in just three class periods. Man did they deliver....
I had raps, t-shirts, songs, tv-episodes, dolls, toys, games, pop-up-books, stories, comics... like... EVERYTHING. It was cool. (This one is a game where you have 30 seconds to place as many of the correct name-pins in the bones as possible)
I wish I could share them all. But I can't, cause... student pictures and all.

10 Years Ago Today
10 Years ago the world changed, as a world we all cried at the horror we witnessed. I got Murphy about 8 weeks later, she was sitting with her back to the cage door at the local shelter ignoring the world, the tag on her cage said she was found walking alone down the street. When I took her to vet he determined that she was born somewhere around this date. So together, the vet and I decided her birthday was September 11, 2001. Because with all the pain and sadness that happened on this day 10 years ago, we also needed some kind of hope and joy. That's exactly what this little girl has brought me for the last 10 years. Murphy is my shot for this week's 52 project, the theme is "History" and I can't pick a better subject. With sadness comes hope, anger evolves to healing, and with tragedy came a good dog.

Chipmunk
What is it about chipmunks? Cute, cute, cute. This one is making itself (since I don't know if it's he or she) quite at home here since last fall. Did you know they semi-hibernate over the winter? I didn't. They apparently wake up now & then to nibble something from the pantry and then they curl up and go back to sleep. Wise little creatures!

Collecting glass ornaments is a tough task. Especially finding stuff you want in "glass". So who ever thought we would find Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine (VAN) made of glass. In 2004 the Cartoon Network came out with one. Its long retired now, and very very hard to find, and more on the rare side. You could find these at Walmart, Toys R Us, Target and K Mart back in the day..Retail then was 5.99. If your lucky to find one on ebay today expect to pay 5 times that much...

Night Garden Pavilion
Night Garden Pavilion - it's a bit fiddly to put up (took 4 people 45 minutes (although this might have been a case of too many cooks... ;D ), and wouldn't last long on a windy day but it is beautiful and stood up to 6 overexcited a toddlers, a crawling baby and lots of grown ups too :)

Project 365 Toys - Aerialbot Skydive (Day 181 of 365)
Superion Sunday (Day 3 of 6)
This Transformers figure is Skydive, an Aerialbot from the Generation 1 line, released in 1986. It is complete and in decent condition, with slight sticker wear here and there. I am missing his gun though. I had a gun for him, but it turns out that it actually belonged to one of the Protectobots! I'm really wishing that I had patted down that sticker on his foot before I took the photo, but that's just part of the normal sticker wear on a twenty year old toy.
Project 365 Toys - Triggerbot Override (Day 4 of 365)
This Transformer figure is Override from the Generation 1 line, released originally in 1988 under the Triggerbot sub-line. It is complete and in excellent condition. After looking at this photo, I wish that I had dusted it first, but you can see that the stickers are in great shape for a twenty-year-old toy.
