The picture is taken from the viewpoint at 10,750' near one of the first and most productive verticle shaft headframes. The ore from this mine when operated as a shaft mine contained about 1/3 Troy ounce of gold per pound of ore. That's 2.3%!!!

Cast

This is my view of my leg at the moment!!
On Saturday night I was on my way back from taking photos of the sunset when I slipped going down a small grassy hill and fractured my leg close to the ankle. I now have the "pleasure" of a cast and crutches for the next 6 weeks.
I should add that the sunset was a non-event and the camera survived the fall :-)

Adam was created in the image of God. Thank about that. I believe that one of the ways we were created in His image is the way we are three parts; Spirit, Soul, and Body. 1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Belive that all three parts were created in perfect unity with each other. Just like God is. He is three in one The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit but all three are in one accord and in unity in all things. Then when Adam ate from the tree of knowledge he surely died. Not physically of course, but death entered into him. He was still in his body and was still connected to God spiritually but he now felt fear and separation from God. He now knew good and evil. He was no longer perfect and innocent, now he had evil feelings, thoughts and emotions mixed in with the good. This is where the biggest struggle is; in our mind. Now that he has mixture he is no longer in one accord or in perfect harmoney with himself or with God. He can't be. No matter how hard you try to do good and try to be righteous and try to be pleasing to God in your own strength you cant do it.

Thank God He didnt leave us in this mess. He sent the new and improved Adam; Jesus Christ. The first Adam took us away from God, this Adam brought us back to God. The first Adam brought death and separation, Jesus brought life and unity. The first Adam brought confusion and mixture, Jesus brought understanding and purity. The first Adam brought flood water, Jesus brought fire. Jesus came to restore us back to the Father in all the ways Adam was before the fall and more. Makes me think of this verse in another light. Joh 17:11....Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. I know He wants us to be one as a body and for all His creation to come together in unity of the spirit, but I belive that He also wants us individually to be one again spirit, soul, and body. Adam was one (with himself and with God)before He was one with Eve (the body, the church). Our spirits are saved, our minds are being saved and our bodies shall be saved. Unity. Purity. No mixture of good and evil. That's nothing we can do in our self or for ourselves, so He did it for us.

Now that we are no longer in Adam but in Christ we pray for Jesus to open our eyes once again. Unlike our time in Adam and our time under the law, with Jesus we look to life and peace and unity with God again. So your eye must be single in order to see your way back to the garden. You must keep your eyes off yourself and off others (judging whats right and wrong, walking the fence and being soulish) and keep them focused on The Light (seeking for His judgement in all things). Seems like we just get taught to fear His judgement, but we should desperately want His judgement because it is purifying and cleansing, and giving us a walk that is of pure gold. This is Mom wearing my matsu kurotomesode + a fukuro obi we borrowed from SuperWombatchan (since I wanted to use the gold fukuro obi with my kiku houmongi; I never realized how much of a fukuro obi shortage we had until that night. @_@) The kurotomesode is synthetic, which (along with the pine motifs) is one of the reasons I bought it; I hadn't seen that many synthetic kurotomesode, and the novelty won me over.

BTW: The obi is a metallic brocade fukuro obi, but parts of the metallic brocade are pink instead of it just being pure gold and/or silver. Does anyone know if that's actually okay for a kurotomesode? Honestly, I'd never thought about it before (I always pair this with my gold fukuro obi on the RARE occasions I've worn it) so it's never been an issue before... But, with time running out and limited internet access, I didn't research it. :S Anyone want to volunteer some advice? Yay or nay for the metallic-but-with-color obi?

Wow, Mother Nature! How do you do it? The Color, the pattern, the subtle similarities and brash contrasts! Outrageous brown mosaics and black and white polka dots! Amazing against the brilliant yellow and red crowns of Milkweed.

The Monarch life cycle is a marvelous story! The Monarch butterfly lays its eggs on the Milkweed. The caterpillars hatch and devour the Milkweed plant... almost to the ground. The newly emerging butterflies lay their eggs on the Milkweed, and the cycle begins again.

These two species... Milkweed and Monarch caterpillars have it all worked out. The Milkweed gets a pruning and rapidly comes back. And the caterpillars get the exact food they need to prepare for life in a cocoon and profound transformation... from larvae to glorious butterfly!

The total time frame for one butterfly's life cycle is about 6-8 weeks... egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly. It grows in the egg for about 4 days. Then it munches Milkweed as a caterpillar (larvae) for about 2 weeks, shedding its skin and facemask like a crab as it outgrows it. Larvae of the Danaus plexippus can defoliate a milkweed plant in one to two days. Life inside the chrysalis (pupa) lasts about 10 days and its colorful and glorious life as an adult butterfly... a precious 2 to 6 weeks. Most milkweeds contain cardiac glycosides which are stored in the bodies of both the caterpillar and adult butterfly. These poisons are distasteful and emetic to birds and other vertebrate predators. After tasting a Monarch, a predator might associate the bright warning colors of the adult or caterpillar with an unpleasant meal, and avoid Monarchs in the future.

The Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae), in the family Nymphalidae. It is perhaps the best known of all North American butterflies. Since the 19th century, it has been found in New Zealand, and in Australia since 1871 where it is called the Wanderer. In Europe it is resident in the Canary Islands, the Azores, and Madeira, and is found as an occasional migrant in Western Europe. Its wings feature an easily recognizable orange and black pattern, with a wingspan of 8.9–10.2 centimetres (3?–4 in). (The Viceroy butterfly has a similar size, color, and pattern, but can be distinguished by an extra black stripe across the hind wing.)

Female Monarchs have darker veins on their wings, and the males have a spot called the "androconium" in the center of each hind wing from which pheromones are released.
