For BMW tuning aficionado G-Power, there's no such thing as enough power or too much speed. Having already pushed the limits on the M5 Sedan and more recently, the X5 SUV, the German tuner focused its resources on the development of an even more extreme and powerful edition of the 635HP M6 Hurricane. Called the Hurricane CS, the M6 Coupe-based model uses an upgraded version of the M5 Hurricane's 730HP twin-turbocharged V10 that delivers an output of 750HP allowing the supercar to reach a top speed of 370km/h or 231mph.

To achieve the record breaking speed (for a production BMW coupe), Michelin provided a set of special high performance Pilot Sport PS2 in sizes 255/35 ZR 19 in front and 305/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle. For everyday use, G-Power offers the M6 with 21-inch Silverstone Diamond wheels shod in 255/30 ZR 21 (front) and 295/25 ZR 21 (rear) tires that are for use up to 340 km/h or 211mph.

Further development of the M5 Hurricane's V10 engine that included optimized mapping of the ECU and redesigned superchargers contributed to the increased power output of 750 horsepower available between 7,500 and 8,000 rpm, and the peak torque of 800Nm or 590 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm.

In the cabin, aside from the carbon-fiber sports seats, the Hurricane CS also gets a new speedometer with 400-km/h scale, clear-coated carbon-fiber panels for the dash, center console and doors, as well as a new sport steering wheel dressed in perforated Kjerba Nappa leather.

And the price for all of this? According to G-Power, a fully converted Hurricane CS starts at €360,000 or the equivalent of US$477,500.

It doesn't matter from which angle you're looking at it: the new C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series displays its ties with motorsport from every perspective. Delayed

I have the new tires mounted and now the KLR is completely ready to roll. I feel much better knowing I have new rubber and I'm happy with the look of the new tire. It's looks to be more adapt to off road than I expected.

I, on the other hand, am not ready to roll. I have a work project that didn't go as planned today, sooooo, I have some rework to do before I can put it to bed and still have a customer when I return.
I had scheduled many things that had to happen before I could leave. In my typical style, I plan things and try to predict the outcome. And of course I had planned that everything would come off without a hitch.

Another day or two is not really going to impact my travels since I don't have set deadlines. It will be such a welcome time to be on the road without having impending deadlines to meet. I guess that may be why I have such a tough time even with leaving at a certain time. In my business and many others, a missed deadline means chaos and panic. This adventure is supposed to be about exactly the opposite. So I'm doing my best to keep from slipping into my normal reaction.
Recalling most all of the long haul adventurer riders that I studied and learned from, there might have been one or two that left the original day they had planned. 2-4 days after was very common.

Even though I haven't left yet, I've already put my electronic gear to some extreme tests. Much of this "testing" as a result of rushing around to finsh things up and go. A couple of days ago, on top of a motorhome to check on some water leaking, I just stuck my Treo phone in my shirt pocket. While inspecting the leak area - you guessed it, The Treo slid from my pocket, bounced once, and fell to the ground below. About 12 feet total. Aside from a few scratches on the case, no damage and working fine. Kids, don't try this at home. I,m a trained professional cluts.
Today, while rushing to write this entry while having lunch, I quickly grabbed my camera that was sitting on my desk. The USB cable was still connected and won the breif tug of war while I watched the camera fall on to a concrete floor from about 3 feet.
At least I know these gadgets aren't that fragile!
I'll catch up on the Lewis and Clark journal entries later. First things first....get on the road.

I do believe I've had just the most fabulous weekend.
I spent a great deal of it with family, crossed some metaphorical bridges of my own, talked to my brother today (no further explanation offered) and sheesh. Life is just damn good.

Gene and I caught the last drifts of daylight this evening on our way to my parents house, a place called Covered Bridge.
Yeah, you caught that too?? It ain't covered. Hasn't been for about 50 years.
I used to run along this road back in the day. It's roughly a half mile from my parent's home. I got tired of only being able to wear one ipod earphone due to the log trucks that have the innate ability to sneak up upon you when you're off in your own world jamming to Metallica.
go figure. ;-)

Our son spotted Mags and I on a Sky News report on the Royal Wedding. One minute and fifty-six seconds into the short Royal Wedding video clip on Sky News web-page there we were, It was nice of Sky news to describe Mags as the Queen because she did look regal. LOL! Mags waving her little flag and beaming radiantly and myself standing behind her in my Gran Canaria baseball cap. We were standing across the road from the assembled press corps Mags and other ladies in the crowd were interacting with the media by cheering and waving flags and I was photographing photographers who were photographing and videoing our section of the crowd. The lovely ladies on our right were from Alnwick (pronounced Annick) in Northumberland and the hatted couple on our right were from the west of Scotland.

Day 119 - Delicious Days

You'll have to forgive me for taking a day off before writing up the description for this piece. Today was a GREAT day. But also extremely exhausting. In fact, by the time you read this entire piece, that I will lay out ad nauseum, you're going to feel tired too.

7:30AM - Wake up, get ready for swim lesson
8:30AM - Get to Hardisty Pool, await Megan
8:35AM - Meet Megan, wow, we both look awfully tired
8:50AM - Floaty Boards!! YESSSSSS
9:25AM - No Floaty Boards?! Are you sure?!
9:30AM - woo woo! Look how far I got (half the pool length haha)
10:00AM - shower, man, I need a body wash or something...
10:01AM - Light Bulb...Old Spice!
10:15AM - "Megan, I'm going to buy a pair of swim goggles and Old Spice bodywash"
10:20AM - I am STARVING. Let's get some breakfast, where to?

Also picked up awesome swim goggles from Swimwear Etc. Who carries Speedo brand -5.5 swim goggles?! Swimwear Etc. does, that's who! Very small dude's section, I felt like a perv going to look at chicks shopping for bikinis, so I immediately asked where the goggles were instead of browsing for them myself (they were right behind her...)

1:30PM - get home, lounge a bit, check EVE Online, tell Kevin I'm tired, but heading out
2:30PM - get Pandora charm, gift bag, 3x bags of Mini Eggs, and Old Spice Body wash
3:00PM - get home for the second time today, parents are already gone, have a shower, get ready to go out.
3:30PM - fall asleep...
4:00PM - still sleeping....

05 - Mellows Bridge

There has been a stone bridge at this point on the river since 1603 and is the 2nd oldest bridge in continual use.

The bridge has had many names in its history but most of us refer to it as Queen Street Bridge. In 1942 it was named for Liam Mellows who was shot during the civil war in 1922. Prior to that it had a brief spell as Queen Maedhb of Connaught Bridge. The Georgians had called it after Queen Charlotte (consort of George III) in 1768.

The original bridge was swept away in a flood but was named after Richard, Earl of Arran. He was a son of the Duke of Ormond

tired & bored

From the pages of an issue of Vogue 1996. The drawing & heading from the corner of some column and the 'mosaic' pieces cut out from a drug advertisement of pharmacies that carried some drug. I used glue stick to adhere the pieces onto some kind of bond paper my dad had brought home many moons ago, some of which I still have. I also sprayed a clear acrylic gloss of some kind to make it shiny. Part of a personal project. Only thing I had to buy was the acrylic spray. Why bother with art supplies!? I 'found' my own.
