- The Ethernet physical layer is the physical layer component of the Ethernet standard.
- Cable transmission medium for Ethernet classified as XbaseY, where X is the data rate in Mb/s, "base" means baseband (as opposed to radio frequency) and Y is the category of cabling. The original cable was 10base5. Common XbaseY Ethernet Cable Classifications include:
- any of several types of coaxial cable used in ethernets
- Lacking or not requiring wires
- transmission by radio waves
- radio: medium for communication
- having no wires; "a wireless security system"

I spent most of the day today in doors watching stuff on iPlayer and catching up with a friend over the phone.
Got slightly bored and decide to have a crack at this self portrait thing.
Notes on the picture:
Not too bad if I say so myself.
The wooden floor in my room makes for a great background.
Stuck the camera on a tripod and took the picture using the timer function.
It made me realize that I need to get a remote control. (wired Vs. wireless? )
I had to do some cloning to hide an Ethernet cable running across the floor.
And I finally got to use the video out cable, which was great as the camera was perched too high up for me to see through the view finder.

I am thankful to have the beginnings of ethernet cabling semi-prewired in this house. It saves a lot of effort on our part. the qwest guy said "this is a mess" - yes, it's a mess, but it's better than having nothing! the grey thin cables are cat5e for ethernet (could also be phone), and the purple cables are RG6 coax for cable (there is a splitter/amplifier down further).
