Setting Up A Wireless Modem
A wireless modem is a type of modem which connects to a wireless network instead of to the telephone system. When a mobile Internet user connects using a wireless modem, they're attached directly to the wireless ISP (Internet Service Provider) and can then access the Internet.

Today was a comp day from work, so I spent it doing what I always do -- spending all day in front of the computer, IMing with Schnokie, reading hockey blogs, and puttering with online ordering and backing up iTunes. Despite having a wireless modem, I always gravitate to the computer desk set up in the office. The desk is a repurposed Singer sewing machine table and wasn't meant to be a computer table, that's for sure. The treadle makes a great footrest, but the treadle wheel impinges on the leg space.

So I was over at my Godmother's this-evening, trying to set her wireless modem up, which took longer than expected. Anyway, because there was a lot of waiting involved and my cousin had borrowed my camera that afternoon, I decided to take some photos of her with on-camera flash. I had, perhaps, the most ridiculous system ever - I can't really describe how it worked, but it involved foil and a silver mixing bowl. It worked though. :P
