The soldier's friend, the US Army MIL-H-1597B HEATER, IMMERSION, LIQUID FUEL FIRED, FOR CANS, CORRUGATED. These units provided the hot water necessary to provide clean cook ware and serving ware for the Mess Hall (Tent). Immersion heaters have prevented diseases caused by dirty cooking & serving ware for decades. They also provided hot water for shaving and bathing for some patients at Cu Chi. Note the double sink made from 55 gal drums.
