This large vessel is used to heat water for bathing purposes. Used to be one of the first things the workers in the house did. Got the fire pit ready, water in the copper vessel and as the water heated we would bring buckets to take back to the bath room. One of my grandma's sister in law still lives in the village and she still uses this even today in day of water heaters.
