Day 270: It Fell the F*ck Off
Never a dull moment in the life of a marine biologist. After launching the boat, our driver-side trailer tire fell the f*ck off. It just fell off. Rusted right through. Luckily, no one was hurt. Definitely a Postcards from the Field.
Big, big trailer!
This trailer was almost more interesting than the cargo. It's a custom built $325,000 rig complete with 36 tires and designed to spread the weight of the 70 ton load it carries. This is one of 4 segments of it.
