Simmons Watch Chain

PG 46 What's The Time?
Just back from a good time we had camping in our camper-trailer at Ballina and in time to enter this pic in project glimpse. Here you see a little bit of history. We have my g.grandfather's watch chain; my grandfather's watch or timepiece; the first watch I ever owned which was presented to me by my parents on my 15th birthday; my present watch and a bedside table alarm-clock.
With modern digital throw-away society watches like my present watch, it seems inconceivable that the old-style clockwork timepieces or watches could be repaired time and time again before they were totally worn out. When I had my grandfather's timepiece and my old watch checked by a watchmaker recently, he said they only required cleaning and the workings were "as good as the time when they were made".
This would not occur with my present watch. Certainly, batteries can be replaced but if anything else fails in its mechanism, a watchmaker will say _ Sorry, sir but it's time you bought a new one. This watch has had it's day.
Chainmail watch chain - 1st
Blue has some pocket watch cases he wants watch chains for. I made this one with the Byzantine pattern. This time it worked, because I used thicker rings. I've ordered some bronze and copper rings, and I'm going to try this again when I get them. It is supposed to look really good in two colors.
