House of P.Y. Chong 1940s
Tongue-in-cheek but not politically correct by today's standards. Ad card for a popular Chinese restaurant on Ala Moana Blvd. "Big Bosse" P.Y. Chong started Waikiki Lau Yee Chai on Kuhio Avenue around 1929 and the House of P.Y. Chong on Ala Moana "Load" around 1940. The address shows it would have been located between the Ilikai and Hawaii Prince hotels today. From what I can find on the internet, P.Y. was a true "fliend" to the servicemen of the era.
