In case I haven't mentioned recently, I love my full time job. I'm in Human Resources. I'm an SPHR, and a Corporate Recruiter. I spend a lot of time in this space. A few weeks ago, I took all my photos down with the intention of framing some of them, and showing them in a more special way.

I've been so busy across the board since then, that I couldn't get that done yet. The gray and blue-gray walls were giving me zero joy, so instead I put up a bunch of different shots that I already had printed along with some of the old faves. Obviously, I'm a very visual person, and I have felt the difference in my mood the past three days. Being able to glance over at my niece and nephew, Jessi the Wonder Dog, all the Birds, Flowers and Family lifts me up! I'm sure there is psychological data about the effects of surrounding yourself with postive images, and I living proof of the positive effects!

I have one serious wall with my credentials, etc. That is the wall most people see when they walk by. It's mostly only people who are coming to specifically see me, that are getting this view. Anyone who interacts with me, already knows I'm a creative nerd, AND a serious professional, or at least I hope so! =o) Hugs and thanks for viewing!

yeah i might be five years old. whatever.
got totally drenched, but it was worth it.

i hate having to crop pictures because it makes me feel like a bad photographer - ex. "why couldn't i just have taken the photo like this in the first place?" that said, i really have been sensing some improvement with my technical skills and this camera. i kind of dove into flickr/the world of DSLR photography like an idiot, just bought the one that my future roommate recommended me and started playing with it. i still haven't read the manual. whoops...

anyway. i've finally got the hang of the manual settings (that is what happens when you never take a photo class and are like "oh what does this big F mean?") and i usually am no longer needing to use presets and tutorials for getting the effects i want in my processing... that makes me really happy. i like to do things on my own.

i had this massively epic entry about love and relationships planned for today, but mr. rain thought he was clever. so i'll save that for tomorrow.
