Goodbye Chicago, Hello Detroit
Two full weeks.
Over 2000 miles travelled to/from Chicagoland, in/around it, across Lincoln Hwy in Iowa and a few jaunts into Wisconsin as far north as Cedarburg, with some in-depth cruising in Milwaukee and Kenosha. (And a stop at Mars Cheese Castle, of course!)
A few Goodwill, Salvation Army and Antique stores parting me from my money. (More postcards, another vintage calendar salesmens book, some vintage tupperware for the Missus, etc)
Quite a few Chicago-style hotdogs down the hatch. (Including the famous "Superdawg".)
Bitching about Chicago's seemingly endless traffic and gas prices. Enjoying Wisconsin & Iowa's lack of traffic and much cheaper gas prices.
Over 2500 photos taken, some might actually be worthwhile. (laugh)
Outsmarting Chicago's morning traffic on my way home (ha hah!), missing a toll on I-294 (paid online today), only to double my time home by taking the "scenic route" (US-6) across Indiana into OH, then Rt-127 towards home.
Getting to spend time with and doing all this cruising with my daughter:
Priceless. :-)
Now the task of sorting though it all begins. Oy! Deepest thanks to both Katherine and Roberto for assistance in finding cool stuff to shoot in Chicagoland!
