Conflict Zone #1
A cubist piece which seeks to reflect the nature battle and conflict on the ground - a mixture of carefully thought out plans and the chaos of war in the raw. The columnar structures on the right represent the planning of the battle, while the more sinuous and twisted elements are the unpredictable consequences on the ground. As such, the piece evolves from right to left both in structure and meaning. The dark colours on the right also hint at the black arts of war planning, while the light colours hint at the blinding light of battle.
