Repair A Clicking Hard Drive
disk drive: computer hardware that holds and spins a magnetic or optical disk and reads and writes information on it
A high-capacity, self-contained storage device containing a read-write mechanism plus one or more hard disks, inside a sealed unit. Also called hard disk drive
Hard Drive is the debut album from York rock band The Sorry Kisses, which was released on April 28, 2008. The album has been created as an outlet for Hayley Hutchinson's louder songs, which contrast with her usual acoustic style.
A hard disk drive (hard disk, hard drive, HDD) is a non-volatile storage device for digital data. It features one or more rotating rigid platters on a motor-driven spindle within a metal case. Data is encoded magnetically by read/write heads that float on a cushion of air above the platters.

17th St. Canal new levee wall
A crew works on a levee adjacent to Lake Pontchartrain. Despite $22 million in repairs, the 17th Street Canal levee which broke during Hurricane Katrina is leaking. Experts fear the levee could fail again in another large storm. A quick drive around New Orleans shows progress is being made to protect this below sea-level city from future flooding but much work still needs to be done.
New Orleans 2010
fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina
Five years ago today, the hurricane's winds were over 125mph and the flood surged 30 feet in some places, crushing tens of thousands of homes and businesses. Katrina killed 1,833 people in five states and is considered one of the worst natural disasters ever to hit the U.S. (the cost: at least $100 billion).
On the fifth anniversary, I visited some of the hardest hit areas of New Orleans to see progress made in recovering the neighborhoods... and I saw how much more needed to be done.
I always loved click beetles. If you turn them upside-down, they hinge their necks and make a sharp click, which propels them into the air and usually they land on their feet! Much fun to play with. Some of the click beetles have larvae that are serious pests. They're called wireworms. Most harmlessly eat decaying matter in the ground. I tried to identify this click beetle farther, but there are almost a thousand species in the USA and they have very subtle differences...so we shall just call it a click beetle! ;-)
