In New York City, the place to go for typewriter repairs and tune-ups is Gramercy Office Equipment Co. (212-674-7700), 174 Fifth Avenue. Ask for Mr. Paul Schweitzer or his son Justin Schweitzer. I’m a satisfied customer and I approve this message. The Schweitzers have been in the business at least since the 1930s; they’ve had a repair shop in the Flatiron/Gramercy Park neighborhood since the the 1930s. They were on the 8th floor of the Flatiron Building from the 1940s until just around 2008; now directly across Fifth Avenue from the Flatiron at 174, on the fourth floor. Not “stuck in the past,” they also repair Hewlett-Packard laser printers and fax machines.
The ATmega32, toner transferred
The first stage in making a PCB for an Atmel ATmega32 chip. Laser printer toner has been transferred, by a hot domestic iron, onto the copper-clad board. Next, the bare copper will be etched away with ferric chloride.
