When Lord Thomas Pelton falls ill, he’s secretly imprisoned by his head nutler Edward Mundey in an upstairs room at Colesworth Hall. Edward gains access to Lord Pelton’s money and once assuming his master’s identity, spends it lavishly by visiting gaming houses and brothels in London where he aims to satisfy his desire to whip naked girls. Daniel Bevilacqua was born October 13, 1945 at Juvisy-sur-Orge near Paris. He is the son of a masonry contractor of Italian origin. Young Daniel is quite rebellious in his school life in where he is bored . he will then skim pensions and attend no fewer than a dozen high school until about age of 16 years.

He gained his first musical emotions about 8 years. Edith Piaf & Gilbert Becaud were his first idols, soon supplanted by the blues, a real revelation for the young man: he discovered Robert Johnson and especially John Lee Hooker. Much later, he will collect the 78s blues.

In the late '50s, he receives the brunt of the wave rock'n'roll, the Bill Haley, Little Richard and Elvis Presley of course. The music became his passion, he also plays the harmonica and guitar.

Daniel Bevilacqua creates his first band at 61, Danny and Baby Hooligans. He resumed Gene Vincent, or rock'n'roll standards like "Heartbreak Hotel". He is a singer-guitarist.

First record
At 63, he recorded his first 45 laps on the label of the famous Parisian Room, Golf Drouot. "Come back Sophie, inspired by American black music goes completely unnoticed.

It is in fact not until 1965 and the release of "Aline" under the pseudonym of Christophe to see the success happen. Regarding the slow summer, he would be more than one tidal waves because these are some 1 million copies of the 45 laps left in Disc'AZ are sold. The text is signed Jean-Michel Jarre, then a young unknown songwriter. Christophe has left his look of young man "as he is" 60 years to be in the range of slightly decadent dandy singing in a detached "The Last of Bevilacqua" or hit "Senorita." At 75, released the album "Les Mots bleus". From pop-star and crooner, he confirms with this album its place in the French variety. The album "Pretty Odd" which was released in 78, reinforces this image of an artist apart, secret and seconded contingent of showbiz. Most titles are signed Bob Decout including "A little liar".

At the request of his wife Veronica, Christopher spring 80, the 45s "Aline" and aligns 3 million and a half of sales. Three years later, a new 45s "success fool" will again propel Christophe top of the charts with 600,000 copies are sold.

But only the following year the singer released a dandy new album of standards for years 40-50. When the movie “Walk the Line” came out, I was not one that ran to the theaters to see it. I was a Johnny Cash fan and played a lot of his music, but it wasn’t like I traded collectible cards with his picture on them. Cash wasn’t the strongest musician but he was an incredible story teller and carried this presence on and off stage. This song had been one of my favorites for many years.

I finally saw the movie at my sister’s house, and at the end my sister was an instant fan of Johnny Cash and wanted any and all recordings of Mr. Cash. She asked if I had any so I shared this and another that were not in the movie. My sister and I sat down and listened to this song over and over and over- and I still remember the smile on her face, her head cocked back laughing, and then of course us comparing the song’s father to our own.

When I hear this song, I remember my sister and these laugh we shared. I suppose I could say that this song was a musical influence in that I learned to tell stories in songs. I love that so many of Johnny’s songs are actually more talking than singing- he and Leonard Cohen are the masters!
