Mini-Mansion

This is another of my grandaughter's z-foundation buildings. She was going to make it one story until I suggested that a second floor over part of it would be nice. We just got carried away and kept on going. She liked the third floor so much we decided it would be a playroom for the kids. They can see the front and back yards in case they need to watch for friends or parents and they don't have to clean it up unless they want to becasue the bedrooms are on the second floor and parents do their entertaining on the first level. By the way, this shows another example of what to do with an off-center roof. The peak on the second floor areas is just left of center from this view. The roof is just longer on one side than the other much like a Saltbox style home.

Sharmans Streatham

This is my bus stop. Streatham High Street once won an award for "ugliest high street in Britain" which is crazytalk because actually there is some incredibly beautiful architecture, if you can ignore the shop fronts and look UP. There's some stunning Art Deco, Victorian and Arts and Crafts buildings surviving from the first floor up. I have no idea what Sharman's was, but it's a lovely building. Also, the Sainsburys to the right has just undergone a refurbishment, and 100 years worth of grime and dirt was cleaned off the brick, revealing lovely mellow red and cream brickwork.
