this is kinda funny.
so after all the hullabaloo of the wack and the airbags popping was over, i smelled burning and heard trickling noises
i became convinced the car was about to burst into flames.
i tried to get out through my door (forgetting about the big mercedes right there! oops!) and then i guess i rolled down the window to crawl out, when i realized i couldn't crawl out, i debated calling out to onlookers for help, but decided that was overly dramatic
so for some reason, i rolled the window back up (to keep rain out of my totaled car? i dunno)
then climbed across the passengers seat, and crawled out the passenger door, hands first - got to my feet and ran across the intersection (traffic had stopped)
as i said, CONVINCED there was going to be a massive fireball behind me at any instant.
a nice lady in scrubs was running towards me 'stop, you need to sit down, oh my god are you ok?'
and i may have shouted
IT'S GONNA BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!
that's how i tell it anyways, cos it's a lot funnier that way...
anyhow, when i went to clean out the car, i saw the hairs - must've got em caught in the window and just tore em out in my frantic escape from the firey inferno that never happened.
ahhh, adrenaline.

How true is that? Lately I'm very much aware of how much time I spend in my car and how much my mobile sanctuary reflects my personality. It's usually messy yet I somehow know exactly where to find things in it and when it's cleaned up I feel renewed, even if it is short-lived. My Fusion is the first "real" car I've ever owned (or borrowed from the bank.) After one station wagon and four vans, buying it symbolized the end of the need for car seats and room for huge book bags and toting six kids around every other weekend. In that respect it was kind of a sad transition and yet, I know I wouldn't want to go back to those days no matter what. As I look at this car in front of me, I wonder "Could I pull off a car with polka dots?" Probably not. I think I'll just stick with my 'grown up' car. However don't be surprised to find me opening up the sunroof, rolling all the windows down and turning up the volume on some good ole' Bon Jovi every once in a while!
